because of the storm, traffic is crap everywhere so there is no way i can make it to any of the locations cause they're all a good 30 minutes away.

Yeah, stay safe until the weather is past you. It's just a game...the axons will wait.

I was at the Peremiter Mall location, but there was not a phone anywhere near where the map put the location. this means either the maps were wrong (which we probably won't know unless someone gets a gps; or the location just means that area - giving us a whole mall and MARTA station to cover.

What I learned:

The parking garage does not have a payphone.

Nordstrom has replaced all of their old payphones with a sign inviting you to make free calls at the customer service desk. Nice, but not great for axon lighting P)

The likely problem - the coordinates are for the mall address, which mapping SW puts at some random spot on the mall property. But because all the phones on the property have THE SAME ADDRESS, it can be a little difficult to figure out which one the axon is. Some people have managed it in other regions. Or maybe they had better coordinates. I tried three phones over three days at a mall near me (the ones nearest the GPS point), and then gave it up.

My roommate and I activated the Perimeter Mall axon (we both work at the mall so we knew right where the payphones were). There are five phones on the second floor next to Fossil. In any case, the 14:49 PDT axon is hot. We'll try to hit the other two Atlanta axons tomorrow.

Yep. The problem is that it went hot. Whoever lit it please tell us where it is for next time. My best guess is the Food Court. That's where is was for MoGA.

EDIT: Heh, Never-mind. Thanks you very much KaptainKlack Do you mean the Midtown and The location west of 400?

Speaking of which, Genie, were all of the calls not to the same phone? Were you the one that got the axon hot at 11:37 PDT?

The first page of this thread Has the Georgia Axon Directory. Hopefully your one-stop shop for Axon hunting.

If you have pictures that make finding a phone easier post them in this thread and I will add them to the directory.

Good luck.

We're going to try to hit the Midtown location and the one near 400 tomorrow. Hopefully those will both be hot tomorrow.

research on the east Marietta location.

If you plan to go to the axon west of 400 (6:41PDT zip_your_shirt), take a quick look at this terraserver map.
ACME says it's the building closest to the north-east corner of the intersection.

The nearest restaurant on yahoo is a McDonalds listed as 4819 Lower Roswell Rd
there is also a payphone for that mcdonalds that ends with 745
alleged.com

However, there is a blockbuster and a papa johns listed as 4811 Lower Roswell, which I believe would be closer to the coordinates.

So without actually going to the site, it could be one of 2 places.
Using ACME as the GPS source, it should be the building just west of the mcDonalds. (maybe it's a blockbuster, or maybe the blockbuster is behind this building)
But the McDonalds has a payphone listed.

Final note, across Johnson Ferry is Mt. Bethel park.
Good Luck.

Mission Accomplished!

It was actually the payphone in the McDonalds parking lot, between McD's and the bank next door, next to the street.
Actual phone location

We took care of the Midtown axon... got there about 2 minutes before it rang. The one on Roswell was a different story. We got to the spot only to find that there was no payphone (one out of three ain't bad I guess), so we looked around and found one at the gas station next to the Blockbuster (just to the left and a little above the coordinate on that map... you can actually see the phone booth on the upper left side of the parking lot). I tested the ringer and it worked. There was a booth right next to it, but the phone had been ripped out. We only had time for a quick search before we had to get to the next coordinate, but it turned up nothing. I'll do a payphone lookup tonight and we'll try again tomorrow. In other news, "taxes_suck" has Durga hacking into the IRS and making them owe Jersey a LOT of money, but he doesn't want her to. What a weirdo.

EDIT: Good job Grend. Now I can sleep in tomorrow!

Huh, well I was planning to go to the Mall of Georgia tomorrow, but not that early. I guess I'll try to see if the wave 3 axons are still ringing.

My roommate and I will take care of the Perimeter Mall locations so that should just about take care of a whole set (assuming we're gonna have 7/7 in the next sets).
