It looked like we missed the train station at 3:00? (14:59) I assume it will be cancelled in the morning, and my schedule still keeps me away, but Thursday I might satisfy my curiosity about whether a cancelled axon might still ring (doubtful).

btw, that pair of phones in the Sheraton: today it was the LEFT-hand one that rang! Seems they've been alternating... I repopulated BOTH phones with bee stickers :D

What a day

I just want to give a shout out to my homies. Razz

In case you haven't seen them already, ariock and vpisteve posted the audio files and I posted the transcript here.

It was so cool to talk with Melissa and the Sleeping Princess.

I hope you Palo Alto people get a live conversation, because you are certainly vigilant with answering your phones and you deserve it!

I was there but a woman was using the phone and would not get off. I posted about this in the sticky about this week of axons.

I am a curious_girl, wondering what is going to happen...
Assuming there will be more calls next week, I plan to go axon hunting, but I will only answer phones if I am the only one at the location. I want everyone to have an opportunity to receive a live call. It's so cool. Cool

Just wanted to say hi from New York. It's 11am here, one more hour until our Friday update! Too bad there are no more axons to light up here in NY.

Berkeley on Recipe4

I just checked Darkforge's spreadsheet for the recipe4 preview. It looks like Berkeley received some special attention from Melissa this week. 11 Axons from 10 to noon, and (I think) one or two new payphones thrown in. Is anyone going to be there to help me out, or should I just wear my running shoes?

Also, just for the record, I can't get either the 8:03 Axon or my personal 8:53 Axon.

Another SF Bay area list

Darkforge and hmrpita do all the hard work, I just post it.

The recipe4 coordinates for the Bay Area are now up. hmrpita added a column that now shows which locations have received live calls in the past two weeks.

Good luck on Tuesday.

Thank you PM's for changing the time of the Palo Alto axons. >< The only one I'm going to be able to get this week is the Sheraton one. Catherwood or androshandrew, are either one of you able to make the other two?

Well, this setup isn't good for me.

I can only get the first four (14:31, 14:45, 15:01, 15:23), thanks to my 3:30pm 'Texturing & Lighting' class. I don't think I can miss this class again for the second week in a row (miss two weeks in a row equal a whole letter grade lower). But it's been so lame so far, too. I wanna learn about making complicated layered textures, and get an in-depth on bump-mapping techniques. Those won't be until post-midterm. Razz

I can push myself and skip the first half, giving me the opportunities to hit a few more locations (15:33, 15:43, 15:57, 16:09, 16:19, and 16:35). I doubt I can actually get them.

And there's absolutely no way that I'll skip on my 'Advanced 3D Animation 2' class; my teacher is too awesome! We do acting in class and I love it! I love sharing ideas with my classmates and inspiring them. It's fun!

And for those of you who want to know, my progress on my animation is pretty slow, but progressive. We're doing key frame poses to our audio. Once I'm done with this week's assignment, I'll post it up for my friends. It's a one-person dialogue of Kamal saying: "Skin is overrated. It said to use Wor-chester-shire sauce and butter. But we didn't have W-, that. So I was going to use steak sauce, but we didn't have that. So I used ketchup... It's pretty much the same, right?"

I have up until midterm to fully animate this scene.

Wish me luck on what I can pull off Tuesday. ^_^ You guys are the best!

I've been keeping a record/listing on all the SF axons since the beginning and noticed some slight trends.

* Note: Each set is represented by a bold color, in the set next in line, each axon is highlighted (bold and color) to show it belonging from a particular set. Those that aren't bold or colored are new to the sets.

The strangest trends of these axons are in Set06 vs. Set07. Set07 is a nearly reversed order of Set06.

Has anyone else noticed similar or different trends in axons?

Ceantari,
I definitely noticed the same thing you did from Set06 to Set07 while I was putting the locations on the recipe4 Bay Area list. I don't know what it means, if it mean anything.
I also noticed that in this latest set, the Berkeley axons are all in the morning and the SF axons are all in the afternoon. This means that, theoretically, someone could do all the Berkeley and SF axons. I have only ever been able to get to afternoon ones myself.
I will be coming around on Tuesday and plan to go to all of the SF locations. I will see you there. I hope you get a live call! Smile

Question

Is it true that Mazian isn't getting a call this Tuesday?
Mazian, did Melissa throw you in the brig or something? Razz

Oof, why do the Berkeley ones always have to be in the mornings? I've missed the last few rounds because I decided I needed to sleep. I imagine if I became a crewmember I'd be getting calls while I was asleep though, and I'm sure that would be a source of great fun to everyone listening, as sleep-talking me would surely begin to actually believe I am part of the military. Maybe I should try for them this week, and shuffle around my sleep schedule.

You think working graveyard there's no downside, you have the whole day to do stuff. Then you realize "oh yeah, sleep. I should pencil that in somewhere." I figured I don't like mornings anyway, so it's win-win. I get to sleep and I get to pretend there's no such thing as morning. I forgot about the "rogue ai from the future prefers calling Berkeley before noon" thing. It's one of those situations that just slips your mind.

I too noticed that new axon at 11:51 and 11:53.

There's a single phone on Telegraph in front of that Joy's store, it might be that one though the map's got it in a building. I might be able to get there to help, but not sure.

There are four phone-banks near that intersection (at least, four that we were able to scout on that fateful first tuesday). Two of them are known axons. The remaining two are singleton phones, and it doesn't seem like Melissa would call the same phone two minutes apart (since "Repeat"ing the file could last more than 2 minutes). So I don't know what's up with that one, but it will certainly help to have (at least!) one or two other folks to stake out unknown phones.
