i have a digicam, phone camera, and laptop w/wi-fi. thanks!

i can only do the axons up to 12:05, cause i have class at 12:30.

Hi, I was just finishing up on my preparation to be the "Operator" for Wa.
state's Rainier Company on Tuesday and thought I'd pop on by and
share a couple of thoughts. I'm sure, by your track record, that you have
everything well in hand but I have come up with a few ideas that might be
of some help.

Being Prepared for Pics-
There was one problem remaining when I posted this, cellphones that could
not email pics. It has since been solved by a team member who will relay
a phone to phone pic to my email.
http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=84988#84988

Being Prepared to Give Directions-
I have mapped out and bookmarked the closest kinko's to each Wa. state
axon. Any of our team members that need to quickly email a pic, but do
not have the capabilities, will call me and I will direct them to the closest
location.

Being Prepared for the Unexpected-
Although that is something for Deepthought, we have tried to anticipate
our needs by setting up a team member to run "Support". He will be in
the area and if needed can travel quickly. Will this be neccessary? Who
really knows?

Manual Labor-
Unlike the nationwide organization taking place, we are not relying on an
automated, rigid system. This is not to say that we will not use and
appreciate it, though. We just feel that it will be best to stay flexible.
We will have a live "Operator" with contact info to help facilitate quick
responses.

We have 15 members in Rainer Company and span the entire state.
There will be 7 in the field, 1 on "Support", and 1 (me) running Intel.

I see that ranger D is going to be your "Operator" on Tuesday
so I extend this invitation:

If you would like, depending on the situation, we could run "Operator to
Operator" information. Anything important that our team reports, I could
get to you. Quickly.

coordination

OK, a couple of things.

I've given my contact info to hmrpita, ariock, Ceantari, Mazian and Lady kata for Tuesday. For the people getting the Berkeley axons, if you have your own system in place, that's awesome. But if you will be flying solo and need someone to coordinate with, send me a PM and I'll get you my info.

Try to stay as flexible as possible. We really don't know what the game will be this week, so being flexible is the best way to be prepared.

AngriBuddist, check your PM, so we can coordinate.

Remember to bring a digital camera of some kind. Wink

Oh yeah one more thing....remember to have fun! Razz

I also want all of us to hang together afterwards so we can do some group pictures. Rarily do we all get to be a herd, usually it's just a small group or partners, but not a class-sized participation.

Is anyone bringing digital camcorders? I know my bf will lend me his. ^_^ Live recordings are fun!

UPdated page

My page has all the latest updates from today.

Note that all calls that used to be from 14:41 to 15:01 have shifted to one later time slot. So if you were expecting a call at 14:52 (I am looking at you, RangerD...) it is now at 14:53.

That is actually the only change that affects our little group.

Happy hunting. I may be horning in on the Davis axon tomorrow. Good Luck!

I wonder if Melissa's still hiring? Cuz I'm still not a crewmember still. I wonder if it's too late?

NM. Here's some lists of names I've thought up for our SF/BA selves:

* Team Frisco
* Team 49
* Frisco Regiment
* 49th Regiment
* 49th Regulator Brigade
* 49th Regulator Division
* 49th Regulator Company (sounds too much like an actual utilities co.)
* 49th Regulator Troop

(49 in reference to California's 1849 Gold Rush. ^_^ And 'regulator' is on Ranger D's request. ^_^)

It's not, there appear to be several ways to join the "new crew" it seems.

Just checking in to say I enhottenated all 3 Palo Alto axons today. LadyKata was with me at the first one at 11:33 and took some pictures. If she's watching, i'd like her to send the one of me to ME and not Melissa. Then I can do some retouching and send it to Melissa myself. (Sending private message now.) Thanks again, Captain!

We love bees, yes we do

a. frankie2tone, I suggest you just go. Even if nobody's there (I expect someone will be) it's fun answering it yourself.

b. The Berkeley Crew photograph, as documented here is absolutely *superb*.

Update from the field

Sorry to intrude, but I don't know which threads people are reading.

Melissa asked someone in the field to relay this information to the rest of the crew:

1. There will be a reward for the picture with the most rank and file crew members in it.
2. All that the rank-and-file pictures require is salutes at a payphone.
3. Melissa wants to bring Dana into the fold. She said that Dana would respond well to kindness.

Welcome frankie2tone! Do you have any friends you can bring? A reward for most recruits in a picture would be cool. Maybe we can convince people waiting in line for the cable car to join us? Smile

I am about to leave to go to the 15:57 axon. I assume Ceantari will also be there (skipping class today, right? Wink ).
Ranger D, DarkForge, and Mazian may or may not be there.
Ariock will not be able to make any SF axons today Sad (he had to go to Davis--he might've gone to that axon).

See you (and I hope everyone from SF Killer Bees, 49th Reg. Division) this afternoon!
