Bam, hit redial. (Since I had found myself The Adam's operator, we had been calling each other back and forth.)

Adam answers and says something like "Help me out, what's the passphrase?"

"a burning fever 1604" I say. I hear it repeated by someone else in the background, and then repeated again.

"We're good," Adam says, and I "peace" out.

Cool

Dude, like a champion. I literally had just pulled out my phone to give you a call when it started ringing.

Mazian, I so can't wait to play along-side you on this!

16-player LAN-age is quite fun indeed. Just that all your grenades gets split 1 per person; there are a few on the ground. But not too often you're lucky enough to be carrying around 2, very fortunate to be carrying 3 grenades. And omigod, the sniper rifle becomes quite scarse and hard to come by. I don't really care, it's still fun on the whole. I really love 2v2 teams (8-player teams); you can get pretty coordinated and organized. That's truly fun.

Oh, and mad props to my fellow 49th Regulator Division newbies Grey and Jay. That's some cold magic juice we had there. You guys had better have gotten yourselves onto the Live Exercise registration list.

(Xbox) Halo multiplayer deathmatch training, this Saturday, my place. Dublin, California (East Bay). (10 minutes via surface streets from the 680-580 interchange.)

For those who are interested, PM me. We already have a few people who have agreed to come. It'll probably be mid-morning/noon until everyone leaves. (Ranger D and I played co-op all the way through the game on Legendary a couple of weeks back. It was a pleasant 6-8 hours.)

I'll provide drinks & finger food. We can order more substantial if the interest exists.

Berkeley Sunday Coordination

Recipe8.html is up. It seems to still be settling, so it's a bit early to make firm plans, but it looks like the Berkeley Crew can muster at the 11:00 axon at College and Bancroft, and split up from there to handle the rest of the day. We'll need all the help we can get, so if you're in the area and not axon hunting in SF, drop by.

Yes!

I think we might want to have a few extra printouts of the final chart of axons, in case people don't have them. This time I'm rechecking before I head out.

Nevermind. Ariock's Recipe7 table is messed up, and it had me thinking the wrong one was the library. The library axon ends in 86885, and it isn't on Sunday's broadcast at all.

I got the following (quick!) response from Melissa:
I wrote:
Op,

Having previewed the schedule for the special broadcast occuring in
three days, I am organizing the Berkeley Crew to operate at full
efficiency. However, we have a problem with the following axon
location:

37.867750 -122.267633
Times: 13:30, 13:45, 14:00, 14:05, 14:10

This axon is located within the perimiter of a secure facility known
as the Berkeley Public Library. Despite its name, this facility is
_not_ open to the public on Sundays. Our attempts in the previous
weeks to recruit its employees have failed. We will be unable to
rendezvous at this axon on Sunday without risking a dangerous black op
that could jeopardize the rest of the mission.

We will continue our attempts to improvise a solution to this problem,
but if it is possible for you to remove this axon from Sunday's
broadcast and replace it with another, that would certainly be the
most strategically viable course of action.

Loyally,
Lt. Adam

I believe you are mistaken regarding the location of that axon.

Now unless I'm very mistaken, that coordinate IS the axon in the library lobby, which we have answered several times before. I'm kind of perplexed by her response, but I'm not in much of a mind to argue.

On the other hand, I've got a cockamamey scheme forming in my mind about a way to answer the phone from outside. It involves a radio transmitter, a couple of linear actuators, some duct tape, and a cell phone...

EDIT: Oh, it turns out she was right. Of course. Ariock's norcal recipe7 page made me think that 37.86775 was the library, but the library is 37.86885.

Guys, we need to create a irc chat dedicate to just us SF/BA beekeepers for these axons. There's a crap-load of them, and some that receive multiple calls are like five minutes apart. We need some organization. Somehow we need a conference - some sorta chatroom.
