Halo Deathmatch Party / Oct 30

After Action Report:

We managed to get Ranger_D, Ariock, Stitch and myself (Mazian) together for a little 4-person head-to-head multiplayer.

We played every map at least twice, and played just about every default game type that exists. We even played a couple of custom game types that Stitch brought over on an Xbox memory card.

Favorite Game Types:

  • Team CTF Pro / (Custom) Team Crazy King
  • (Custom) Predator Tag (Juggernaut rules, but "it" gets bonus to speed, dmg and invisibility. Shotgun RULES.)

Maps:

  • Hard to say, but we found that Chiron (the map with all of the teleports) was played less because it was hard to navigate. We also didn't play the Covenant Processing Plan map very often (falling in to nothing sucked).

Notable Achievements:

  • Ariock, who never played Halo before won (solo) a couple of games towards the end of the night. A King of the Hill (Crazy King) map and one other. He and and his teammate also won some of the last games of the night together.
  • Stitch for generally whuppin' my ass repeatedly (and everyone else's) Smile (Managed to stealth pwn me 4 times in a row within 30 seconds of my spawning, but without camping the spawn points. I never saw him coming.)
  • Ranger_D for regularly winning the King of the Hill maps. (If you end up on a Team King of the Hill map, you want this badass on your side.)
  • Mazian (me) for rarely failing to end up with the most kills, even on maps where kills didn't help you win. And completely sucking at all non-CTF / non-Slayer style rules. (I swear, if you need someone to guard your back in a Team game, I'm your man, but don't ask me to hold the flag or sit on the Hill cause generally pwnage is waiting to happen to my sorry butt when you do. Laughing

There will be a repeat event for both Halo and Halo 2, so for those who feel interested in attending in the future, PM me contact info and we'll get you the hook ups.

I had a blast, thanks to you all who could make it and I hope those who couldn't make it this weekend can make it in the future. Cool

I screwed up when I did the order for the Map that hmrpita did....

Crew 4 should be M, D

Crew 6 should be E, G

Crapola. changes will be made in the field.

And just in the interests of completeness, the spreadsheet has been fixed per Stitch. The location for 12:45 and 12:50 are now correct.

As I understand it, DarkForge will be bringing enough maps for everyone. I hope I am understanding correctly.

As Ceantari posted earlier, the San Francisco Squad is planning to meet at the first axon at 10:45 to figure out who gets what assignment. If someone from Berkeley can't come out until later, someone will have to meet that person and give him the map. I am hoping DarkForge has some cell numbers of the Berkeley Crew.

As for me, I most likely will not get there until after 10:45. I have an appt. at 10:30 that is supposed to take 10-15 minutes. Then I have to walk ~3 blocks to get to the first axon. Since I probably won't get there on time, I want to put my vote in now to be either Crew #2 or Crew #3.

For Palo Alto, who's going to get these axons? I can get at the first two "sets" but if anyone else is going it would be nice to have someone there for the times in between.

Winding down...

There will be other threads in other areas about this, but I thought I should put this here since I have had my most significant connections with the people in this thread.

It looks like the game is just about over. I just wanted to thank everyone here for being amazing. It really made it fun to be a part of this community. I find myself lucky to have been able to participate in such a consistently up-beat and helpful and talented and brilliant group of people.

Thank you all.

Count me and MadCow in on the SF axon hunting this Thursday. Our flight gets in at 7:35AM and I can't think of a better way to pass the day than hunting axons Wink

12:23 - P
12:33 - M
13:02 - E
13:08 - H

It ain't over 'til it's over! (I was in denial anyway.)

Looks like we need at least two for Berkeley. but three would be better. Not that I think that'll be problem Smile

It's a good thing I already asked for the whole day off. And my post-dentist mouth should be starting to denumb by 12:02.

I probably won't be going straight to SF after, but it does sound like a convenient plan, doesn't it?

Not only am I bombing out of work early for the training exercise, but now I will have to explain an hour and a half for lunch that day. Woohoo! The fun never stops! Razz I may have to miss the first few, but after that I should be able the stay for the rest of the axons. Smile See you then, people.

You still saving your sick day? Wink

I will not be able to do Axon Hunting, as much as I would like to, they just handed out the project plan for the deployment of the new voicemail systems to our offices, and the first one has to be installed before the end of next week. Evil or Very Mad My bosses are demanding.

So because I am taking time off early this Thursday and taking next Thu/Fri off completely for some Halo2 goodness, I cannot hunt axons.

I am willing to act as the Team Operator tho Cool

Well, sorry for the inconviences. Well, I know I'm up for it and probably my friend (the one who wanted to do a documentary on our party). Who else is?

Looks like the Palo Alto Co-Op has one last set of axons as well. Good thing we picked out a name for ourselves on Sunday. Very Happy

Unfortunatly, I'm not able to get to any of these do to work. However, I will be checking the forums so if we have any passwords or relays, PM me and I'll give you my cell number.

For anyone down in Palo Alto, here's our times:

37.429111 -122.141966
12:14 PST -Caltrain station

37.440343 -122.163291
12:43 PST -Sheraton

37.428810 -122.142941
13:14 PST -Mollie Stone's

Good luck and I'll see everyone at the Metreon!

I figured the rest of the "PACO" would be either at work or in school... god bless unemployment. Sure, I'll probably do my duty and hit those 3 axons in Palo Alto -- bummer that the two right next to one another are separated by travel, but at least they are well spaced in time.

Then I should still have time to drive back home and then head to the train station -- oooo, my tummy is doing flip-flops again. :D

Updating.

Just updating the spreadsheet as made by hmrpita.

Fixed one letter on my earlier post. The last one changed. hmrpita is also making a simplified map that I will post tomorrow when we get the final coords.
