In a somewhat related note, anyone going to the thing at Universal Studios? Check Dana's blog if you don't know what I'm talking about.

If I can't get up to SF, you bet your sweet Censored I'll be at Universal. (And answering the usual LAVA Squad phones before that.)

Don't forget to take cash for parking.

After seeing if I could actually get The Op's message, I was thinking about having some dinner up there. If enough people PM me that they are interested I'll get a big table and tell the host/ess to seen anybody looking for Beekeepers my way. Smile

My plan is to leave work a bit early and drive up there before traffic gets too bad. Then wander around a bit and grab something to eat. Should we try to arrange a meeting place for everyone?

Okay... 8 people seem to be interested in Dinner so far and the only suggestion is Karl Strauss...

So, after I stop by the theatre I'll go get an 10 person "Beekeeper" table at Karl Strauss unless somebody else does first.

Mmm. I would be interested, but there's simply no way I can wrangle a way out there at that time. If only she'd chosen 1200hrs....ah well.

Shad0 has met the reason I won't be able to make it. At any rate, everyone have fun, and enjoy dinner (Dangit, why 6pm? I like Karl Strauss, too...). And I will say nothing about anything that I'm not supposed to say anything about in areas where such subjects are not to be...said. Cool

(Hey, Halfmoon, I might drop by the Pasadena Ralph's axon beforehand just for fun )

Excellent. Me and my own personal Sleeping Princess will hopefully see you there!

Universal Studios

I'm going to try to get the DVD after work. I get off at 5:30 but it's in Calabasas and the traffic on the 101 and 134 at that time is pretty bad, so I probably won't get there til late. Hopefully there will still be DVDs left.

I'll be with you in spirit. My body will be in San Francisco. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

(Which means, incidentally, that anyone in LAVA Squad who wants to grab the Glendale Galleria and/or Burbank AMC Theatre axons today at 12:12 and 12:33, respectively, should feel free to do so. Please?)

I hate to do this, but is there anyone who might take a friend who could snatch me a dvd? I am trapped at work until 8pm. No escape.

I'm a 0/4 Axon hunter (for my most heartbreaking experience see my August 25th post in this thread), so I ask some kind soul to take pity on me.

Oh nut bunnies!!! I told our server that there would probably be two or more other people... But I forgot to mention that they'd be looking for beekeepers...

There were only three of us.

I'm so sorry. Sad

Lemme take a guess. Table of three? 2 female, 1 male? Kind of in the middle of the restaurant in a double-ended booth?

Bahaha. I figured. Here's the rundown. I got there a little late (5-10 min) since I got caught up in traffic. Anyways, after wandering around a bit and getting a lot of "what kind of drugs are you on?" looks, I thought I'd check out the restaurant to see if you guys had any luck tracking down the DVD.

"Hi, I'm meeting some people here. They might be referring to themselves as 'beekeepers'."

"Oh, I don't know of any groups waiting for people. Do you just want to go inside and look around for them?"

"Uh, yeah...I kinda don't know what these people look like."

"....okay...."

<awkward silence>

"so, uh..."

<more awkward silence>

< I run away >

Well, not so much run away, as I decide to go look for the DVD some more, since I didn't want to bother some nice people eating their dinner. For some reason it didn't strike me until later to actually go INSIDE the theater. Anyways, after wandering around some more, I finally met some guys and we found the place, but by the time we got back to the restaurant, you guys were gone. Next time dress up as bees or something to make it painfully obvious for me. Wink

I was going to have a red ballon, but I didn't have time on the way to pick one up and I didn't see any ballons for sale there. Razz
