Quit Slacking!!!

I must say, the AZ Killer Bees are very disapointed in our L.A. Bretheren. We've got a whole friggin state to cover and we still have lit more axons than Los Angeles. When you add the fact that we've had triple-digit weather for the past few months, it only makes you guys seem, well... lazier.

Put down the latte's, walk outside the starbucks, and pick up the friggin phone! DO IT! You can wax your surfboards later. Sheesh.

p.s: Yes, I'm kidding. Wink

Seriously, though, what's up over at UCLA? I know there are three cold axons from drink_the_beer -- two of which are apparently right next to each other -- so why are they still cold? Is it because no one's been able to get to them? Or because there are a bunch of pay phones and we haven't yet figured out which one(s) Melissa is calling? Or because the phones are out of order, or don't accept incoming calls? Or because we can't even find the phones at those coordinates? Or something else entirely?

I'm on the other side of the hill -- which is why I've been hitting only the axons in Burbank and Glendale -- so I can't get over there myself on weekday mornings. Is there anything I can do to help from over here?

I don't think there is actually anyone really getting the phones at UCLA. Cortana (of DC fame) was in town last week and made a huge effort to get them. I have no idea who was with her. If there's anyone who's going to get them, maybe contacting Cortana to identify the phones would be a good idea.

I'm in South OC, so its really inconvenient for me to get up there. Good luck those who go looking!

I was guiding Cortana by cell phone that evening. He had no trouble identifying the phones using the coordinates given. Satellite photos help, too, but aren't strictly necessary.

These should be easy gets for anyone who cares to drive a few minutes out of the way.

I'm at USC, and can't get over there during the week. If they aren't enhottenated by the weekend, I can drive out there and try to find them.

(All these payphones on USC's campus, and not one chosen as an axon... Sad)

I'll be happy to help snag any axons (especially now, how selfish) around the Claremont/Inland Empire area if they pop up, but I don't know how to translate the GPS coords into an actual location.

If Shad0 still can't make it to the Glandale Galleria today, I can hit that Axon tonight.

I can grab the 18:49 burbank one, or the glendale galleria - but since you can do the galleria too, bizarro, I can just as easily go for the burbank one.

I assume since all the axon spikes hav happened, they wont add more tommorow. Dang. I was hoping for an axon spike at the burbank-amc phone, which I believe has always been answered. Oh well.

Lojack, zerosignifier -

http://www.theblackforge.net/recipe1-coords.html

all the coordinates with links to three different mapping sites.

Thanks for pitching in - we can particularly use a couple of the UCLA axons to unlock some lingering stuff.

I didnt make it in time due to poor planning. I'll try harder tommorow. But hey, it wasnt a complete loss - since I was over there, I grabbed some In-n-out (which is right near the pay phone)

Mmm.

Either the Glendale Galleria phone has changed or my clock is not set correctly. Nothing but dial tone for me at the 19:11 axon. Seems we had "bang" covered, though.

Yeah, I check the GPS coords every time new ones appear, just happen to live and work just off of the locations. I don't think some people understand exactly how LA can have locations close to each other and yet so far away. (2 hours to go from the Marina to Hollywood after work yesterday!) So far I got to two round one locations in Santa Monica (which one has appeared again, just at bad times, like 5:00 PM!) I keep looking, hopefully, if we have more, I can get one!

Lojack - really, I'm just focusing on the bunch of axons at UCLA, all in one relatively small area. I hadn't focused on the difficulties of covering the rest of the metropolitan area. Maybe someone has them, or they simply are less important because enough other axons are gotten. Where we're falling short in LA is over at UCLA, where there's a clump, and the clump is NEEDED. Just taking care of UCLA would be a big help to anyone who can get over there!

Never mind. Embarassed

enough axons have been gotten, drink_the_beer is done!

Two UCLA axons shining bright!

aliendial,

No worries- I keep seeing the clump as well and figure lots of college students, plenty of phones, but yet, not a lot of activity. Just trying to explain the space/time mysteries of LA. Smile Still wish there were some at USC! Very Happy At least then I wouldn't have to figure out how to get a couple of hours off of work unmissed in the middle of the day to drive around town!

Did anyone from L.A. become a crew member?
