[META] Colorado - Mile High Squad; Pike's Peak Hopefuls!

For Colorado axon hunters who have been covering most of the state and hence a boatload of axons ... and not had a place to coordinate with other coloradans.

Wow, that was fast aliendial Very Happy My friend crystalx3d and I have been getting the axons in Denver most weeks, but we can't always get the ones in Boulder, and certainly not in Longmont. I'm pretty sure some of the Boulder axons have gone hot, and I know someone has gotten the Union Station ones when we have missed it, but I am still curious to know who it was. I have found out about a few Denver beekeepers, but none of them have gotten the ones we are questioning. We know exactly where all of the Denver axons are, and crystalx3d knows where some of the Boulder ones are, but we can't always get all of them because of school. If anyone is able to help, let me know in this topic and we can work out who will get what (and maybe if several of us are huddled around payphones, it won't look as suspicious).

Hello, all you colorado axon hunters. I know there's more than just me and morgul 'cause somebody got an axon at union station when both morgul and I were in class. So... come and post if you're a colorado axon hunter or would like to be. By the way, our squad, consisting of morgul and me (i know, a two person squad is pretty lame) is called the Mile-High Crew. However, if more people join (hint hint) we can make it not so lame. Very Happy

My guess is AXON UNDER CONSTRUCTION means that you may be getting your axon in the Springs,a long with anyone else who submitted one. Maybe they are testing the GPS coords to make sure they are correct. Way to go Colorado Springs! Looks like you are getting an axon! I'm currently working on a list of the Denver axons and their times, I'll try to get it up asap.

Ok, here is the list of the axons that I know exactly where they are, I'm not sure about the Boulder and Longmont ones (crystalx3d knows where some of the Boulder ones are, I'll get him to post their exact locations when he can. Note that I changed all time to Mountian time (PDT + 1 hour)

39.752932 -104.999825
09:15
39.752932 -104.999825
09:37
These two are inside Union Station to the right, around a corner. Be carefual as there is a bank of about 6 phones nearby, but it is the bank of 4 phones around the corner. It has been 2 different phones in this bank each time.

The rest of these are on Auroria Campus.
39.742220 -105.004200
11:16
This phones is outside on the South-west corner of the building (I'm not sure what building it is, but you can tell from the mapquest map roughly where it is.

39.742530 -105.003640
11:23
39.742530 -105.003640
11:25
These two are inside the building that the first one was by (the entrance is almost straight east of the first phone). Go inside and you should see the phones on the left hand side.

39.743110 -105.003810
11:28
This phone is down the hall (to the north) from the last two phones, near the doors at the end of the hall

39.743820 -105.002560
11:46
This phone is in the lobby of the science building, which from the last axon is to the east past the library, I'm sure someone could give you directions if you need to.

39.741780 -105.001210
12:13
This phone does not work! It made us so mad when we first got there, because it rings but when you pick up the phone it keeps on ringing! Oh, it is to the south of the last axon outside a cafeteria on the corner of the building. I would recomend going there and trying to call it (the number is 303-825-9306) and see if it will pick up, but I doubt they've fixed it.

Ok, that's all I know of (there are some in Boulder and Longmont, but I will leave those to someone who knows exactly where they are). I might be able to get the Union Station ones if my first class gets out early enough, but I don't think it will. I will be able to get the first 4 Auroria Campus axons, but I have a class I need to get to at noon, so I cant make the rest unless I skip the class. Will anyone be able to make it to the Union Stations or the 11:46 Auroria Campus axon? Crystalx3d probably will be able to, but we want to get more people to answer them (plus he's already gotten a live call, somone else should get one now!)

Update 11/4 axons

11:57 - - - Laramie Wy

12:14 - - - Metro

12:20 - - - Colorado Springs

12:57 - - - Quiznos

12:58 - - - Metro

1:06 - - - Metro

1:48 - - - Union Station

Heh, coulda sworn Sunday was the last day, but I was wrong. All times are mountain time. I will not be able to get any of these as I will be in class. A map of the metro axons is provided below for your viewing pleasure. Only seven this time. Apperantly, this is the last transmission that will also be played at the training mission event, hopefully tying up all the loose ends.

Hmmm, I'm at work from 8-5 and since I had to take Fri off to help my father I know I will not be able to get tuesday off at short notice. Following tuesday is more likely, as I'll have given my manager advance notice. If one of you guys in the Denver area want to meet and help me find where some of the phones are (cause I doubt I'd be able to find the right ones one my own, even with a map), that'd be awesome. PM me with an AIM nick or cell number, and we can meet up to coordinate?

Up in Wyoming

Hello all,

I just found out about this a couple weeks ago but have been unable to actively participate because Laramie was lacking in the old axons, the closest one was probably longmont. I don't know if there are any others up here in Laramie, but I figure that they will look here if they want to find anyone else.

Hello, Galt!
Guess what? You're in luck! Laramie has an axon! I noticed that the recipe6 page had been updated and found what I thought to be a new Colorado axon. What I discovered was a new Wyoming axon:
13:26 PDT (2:26 Mountain time)
41.313438 -105.58394
"run_with_scissors" is the code group

Here's a map

By the way people, some of the times have changed. The 3:28 axon is now at 3:19. The 4:01 axon is now at 3:54. The 5:35 axon is now at 5:31. Oh, and all times are mountain time btw.

So, good luck Galt, everyone. And Pikes Peak hopefuls, hopefully you'll get one next week.
