At 9:00, I will be dredging the forums for any new information. I assume
that everyone who gave me their contact info would like an early update if
there are any suprise happenings going on. If not, PM me. I will be getting
my axon call at 2:24 so please DO NOT CALL in the five minutes prior or
after. Beyond that, if you have any reason to call from 9:00 to 6:00, do so.
If you are going to be in the field and somehow do not have my contact
info, PM me.

Operations for Tuesday 10/12

Axons-
I don't know how many of you will be going to axons that you are
unfamiliar with but I have the maps for them bookmarked if you need
assistance.

Passphrases-
I will be monitoring this and will call you 5 minutes prior to your axon to
make sure that your info is up to date. If you receive a new passphrase,
call me and I will report it.

Pictures-
There is a chance that we will have to move these quickly. You can email
these to me and I will forward them. If you have a cellphone that can
transfer a pic from phone to phone, call me and I will get you kidk's # to
forward it to. If you are using a digital camera and need to quickly process
it, I have mapped out the locations of the closest kinkos to each axon.
Kinko's info here.

Coordination-
Melissa is really stressing teams and large groups. I don't know what the
PMs have in mind but over the next few weeks they could put some real
pressure on us. This week kidk is on "Support" and will be able to
respond quickly.

Flexibility-
Who knows what tommorrow will bring? At any point in the day be ready
to reassess these plans. Call me if we need to modify or completely change
them.

This looks sweet! I love the WA state outline. Try with the green Rainier Company text, but make it stand out more by putting a thin black border around the letters. I like how you're incorporating symbolic elements Smile

Done and done. However, I think the font is all wrong to begin with, personally. I'm dabbling with a few others, but can't quite capture the mood I'm looking for...

Any suggestions? I've thought about using something from a highly recognizable business like Microsoft, or the Mariners. I was thinking something scripty, but that's because I can't get the Rainier Roaster logo out of my head. Razz

Scripty? Blocky? Whimiscal? Futuristic? Times New Roman?

-coffe cup(ala starbucks)

-the MS logo is a good idea

-a boeing plane?

-space needle? (chiche, i know, but people think that it is the only building in seattle)

-wizard of oz, yellow(bee) brick road, emereld city

mykie - You using photoshop?

I'd try to lower (and maybe shrink if necessary) the bee inside the state, and put RAINIER COMPANY all caps in a font called Herculanum (it's sort of Greek inspired), in a solid emerald green, centered above the bee, still in the outline. Then, in Layer Styles, select Stroke - here, set the stroke length to 3 pixels, outside, and set the color to black.

I'd think that look pretty cool. I don't think we really need to start putting random symbols in it - this keeps it pretty much copyright free and simple.

EDIT: Oh, yeah, I used a size 18 font.

Here's another couple, one taking suggestions from Quixote, but using my own choice of font.

I'm using Photoshop Elements 2.0, so there's a large number of options that simply aren't available. I've got Photoshop CS at home, so maybe I'll do a little more hacking, but for now I'm satisfied with rainierco6.gif.

Hey, that looks pretty awesome to me. I was just listing what I tried when fiddling with it, glad you were able to use some of my suggestions. I really like that you were able to incorporate another font that fit/looks bigger.

Update: I have secured a digital camera, and my connection issues are REALLY just that it only has this SD card, and I don't have a SD card reader. I'll call Kinkos and find out if they do... if they DO, I can just drive to Kinkos, get those photos uploaded to my webserver, and we'll be good to go. Otherwise, I might have to hand-off to kidk. UPDATE: Kinko's can process the digital images for me, so no hand-offs are needed.

AngriBuddhist, I've got your # and Phaedra's #, I'll call you shortly before the axon to confirm that I'm there and find out if there's any late breaking news. I'll call you & Phaedra back after the call if there's critical info to pass on, if it's a standard recording I'll just go to work and post to the thread here.

Mykie: Truly, your work on updating the front page of this thread w/ new Axon makes this SOOO much easier. Thanks for your efforts! Also, I love the logo, but think the font would be easier to read if it were in a solid green color, instead of the crayon/sketching filter you're using. Just my $.02.

I know that the Stanwood axon is in the public library on 271st but any
additional details about it or the Bellingham locations?
Who is planning on getting these?

My brothers and I will be getting those.

For those of you not paying attention, the new wav listings have been made and AngriBuddhist and I are responsible for 20% of perimeter_alarms. And the Redmond axon for another 10%.

I'll be up and checking in as soon as I can to determine if my presence is necessary on the other side of the lake. If it is, I've just finished configuring my toys. I can post specs on the toys later.

Update:

ariok, in the recipe5 coordination thread, just pointed out that some of the
axons have been nudged. For us it only effects one.

The 3:01 is now set for 3:03.

Don't thank me, thank Wynn, he's the one that does the coordination and updating here.

But I will consider the changes to the logo, since you're not the only one that's mentioned that to me.

Here's the score so far.

Since we are lacking coverage in Fremont (which is actually Fremont Ave
and 34th) and Stanwood, across the state we own 22/24 axons.

All of which will be covered with pics.

Not a bad showing. Way to come together Rainier Company!!!
