Also, I will definitely get the 14:53 one tomorrow. I was hoping to do it today, but my boss came by to talk to me right at that moment. I didn't think she would understand if I told her I really had to go answer a call from a time-traveling AI. Go figure.

I hope you do a better job than I did. I found the right phone...in front of the loan shark place and Taboo video/ next to the construction site. Alas, I didn't realize that there could be one of two questions: What ship am I confined to: Apocalypso or, and this is where I messed up: What ship are you assigned to: your_fault. I said Apocalypso. Sniff.
I tried to find the 15:09 phone on 1st and Washington. I found one that corresponded with the coordinates inside a pub (appropriate for 'drink_special'), but the phone didn't ring.

All in all, for I'm oh for 5 now on these things. At least I got to be at a phone when it rang for once, so that's improvement.

Maybe I'll try again tomorrow. Sorry I missed you, devolver. Nice work on the 4th and Pike phone.

Can you post a link to a thread that talks about 2 questions being asked? I didn't realize that. The question she asked me at 17:11 redmond sounded like "what ship are you referring to?" although I wasn't listening too closely. I answered Apocalypso and it was accepted.

I'm learning in chat that other people had my experience where they answered Apocalypso and the voice recognition software didn't acknowledge it. So maybe I was right after all and didn't realize it.

T_L, absolutely some of the axons are "missed" due to "connection problems". Apocalypso is definitely the answer. I had one today, on a phone I answered just Sunday that has no technical issues. But when I picked up today there was "interference". In fact, I think it was an entirely different tape (I had just done 3 successful ones in a row) with noise added, and I don't think I could have done it no matter what. I think a certain number shall fail, at least initially. And remember poor Oliver last week - the one where he got it right, heard the sound clip, but the axon didn't go hot anyway. So we had to go back. One way to stretch the solve is to take a few pieces from the board at least temporarily. I think that's what's happening here.

Well, I know this is technically a Seattle area thread but I'm not holding my breath for a Stanwood area one. Wink

I got the 18:05 one at the Stanwood Public Library, and am happy to see that the last axon of the day unlocked the Kiss.wav file. But at the same time unhappy since I took the time to transcribe it all.

You're certainly welcome to brag about your activations, detayl Smile

Is anyone going to get the Capitol Hill area axons?
If they are still cold on Satuday, I'll go get them, but I can't get down there on work days. Unfortunately, if the 15:33 axon is, in fact, inside the SCCC building it has to be answered TOMORROW. If it's the one across the street, I can try it on Saturday.

If they're still there on Saturday, I'll go with you again, Wynn.
Remind me to bring a better camera.

just a little note to the PMs

PMs: It's becoming clear that the Capitol Hill phones are a waste of time. Other locations work better. Forget where you think your demographic lives and stick to phones people can find and that will ring.

I love this game and here's a hint to the PMs...*whisper* West Seattle */whisper*

At this point the only Seattle axon that will help open a .wav file
is "I_Durga 15:33". If you have read my post "Important Habits
of an Axon" you know my opinion on this already.

For the many of you that have not:

Don't bother connecting the axons that are grouped under a .wav
that is already open.
Don't go out of your way (outside your hometown) to connect an
axon unless it's your only way to participate.
If possible, only connect axons that have been activated in a previous
phase.

This ensures that when the final set of axons is released they will
be mostly repeats that are clustered and easily found.

Hi, at around 4pm pm tomorrow, I'll be at the University of Washington. I'll also be around the north half of Mercer Island on other days. Anyone need backup in these two areas?

Somewhat [OT] for Seattle. In SF, we are activating the Axons in live WAV groups because we want those Axons to continue in to the next round. Those axons are only inactive today because we have not been recognized by the software, not because we are unable to reach them.

In fact, for me, over 75% of the axons are within a 6 minute walk of my office. How sweet is that?

So far there have been axons that have never been found. They were never answered and never gone hot. But they continue to be used in subsequent rounds. I do not believe your Spec on this would make any difference.

Most people believe that the end goal is to get 777 activations. This means activating axons even if their wavs are not yet unlocked may prove very helpful.

Also, it's still fun to do it even if it doesn't unlock a new wav on the web site.

P.S. You forgot about 8:21, which is for "raffle".

Wynn,

Thanks for pointing out the 8:21. It was very late when I wrote that.

As for your reply, if you search, I was practically the first to start
yelling about the 777 counter. It's existence proves itself neccessary.
I didn't need the SP to blatantly spell it out.

As far as the individual axons go, everyone has a right to do as they
please. If you are having fun hunting them down, you are most likely
the person or people who will go back out and get those same ones
again. I drove out to Bellingham and Stanwood. It took the better part
of 6 hours and $30 in gas but I got an axon.

I don't see how my spec doesn't apply. You go out, get the axons that
you know are there, get a couple of NEW ones and ignore/can't activate
the difficult ones. The next round there are repeats that you get, then
a couple of new ones, and then you search again for the old ones.
This proccess builds upon itself.

Anyway, what do you think is up with the "email me where and when"
Princess message? Why is the fact that we WILL be present at a location
neccessary?

I'm disappointed in me, I haven't had the time to get out and enhottenate any of the 16 axons close to me! At any rate, I will make tomorrow my day and at least get the two that are still cold.

I put up a list of Seattle Area axons on my site just for easier reading:
