legality

I plan on doing an ARG using the population of my school as the initial players, the trailhead being an ad taken out in the school newspaper. The thing is I want to try and keep the curtain closed as long as possible, and I presume none of them have experienced an ARG before. The ARG's story won't involve anything that would likely lead to them doing something illegal, but are there any possible legality issues with doing a game this way?

I'm not sure about legal issues but if you're going to be using school property, you might want to give your vice-principal or someone similar a heads-up to let them know, depending on how big you're going to make it.

This has come up a little bit before. Its a bit sticky. Ultimately the players are responsible for there action. but legal matters always get complicated, like the burgular who sued the owners of the house he was robbing.[/url]

maybe you'd be covered from most angles by having a meta-site which explains, this is a game, don't do anything stupid. it's not as nice as being totally stealth about it all, but it might give you that little bit of peace of mind and you don't actually have to step out from behind the curtain as yourself, just as 'the puppetmaster'.
