I loved Myst and Riven for their beauty and elegance. Plus I didn't need to be a rocket scientist to figure things out. Fingers crossed about my getting the nod for the beta!

Players will have the opportunity to explore and interact with meticulously crafted environments in, around, and beyond the newly discovered underground D'ni empire that predates human civilization. Players will be able to customize their level of interaction with other players, choosing to play alone, with small groups of friends or in areas where they can meet new people.

I have to admit I didn't pay much attention to this until I started reading the press release and then went digging on their website for more information.

Uru, true to the character of the original Myst, will essentially forego conflict and level advancement in favor of a storyline and puzzles staged in an MMORPG environment.

Hmm, puzzles, story, community. Why does this sound so enticingly familiar?
