[META][OT] Fable page = axons... irony? 9-13-04 Is it just me, or does anybody else find it ironic that the name of this week's axon page is titled Fable.
Funny Microsoft's game Fable comes out this week.

The Fable axons are from this week. Next week (when Fable actually comes
out) they will most likely be named Myth or Comatas.
It would be ironic if the names and weeks actually matched up.

Thing is...the axon pages change on Tues. Therefore, the day the axon coordinates are taken offline for Fable would be the day Fable is released. Hmmm....

Once again, call your local vid game shop.
Fable will actually be coming out on Wednesday, thank you.

Kinda crappy aren't we? I'm sorry I researched ebgames.com,bestbuy.com,etc. and found consistant release dates of 9/14. So PLEASE, sir, excuse me for being off by one day.
This thread was created simply in speculation of a possible tie-in with Fable, Halo 2, ILB...not to bitch about a release date. Especially since there's a one day difference between the two days mentioned in this thread. Seriously...Grow up.
EDIT - Language. Yeah, you too. -SG

I'm just trying to tell you that the whole initial premise of this thread is
totally flawed. The timeframe of the fable axons does not and will not
in any way overlap into the release of Fable the game. The dates on
those sites are ship dates. Not release dates.
Therefore it is not a coincidence. It is not ironic.
I'm sorry that the sources of your info were incorrect but I don't consider
a difference of one day insubstantial when your entire premise is based
on it.
Also, in no way was I trying to offend you. Since you have taken offense
when I was, in my mind, just trying to correct an invalid statement, I will
refrain from posting here again.
Sorry for the ruffled feathers.

I totally understand what you are saying. I apologize I jumped you like I did. Believe me, it's been a rough night tonight and I blew things out of proportion.
Again, I apologize and totally understand what you mean.

Ok not to cause trouble and I promise not to come back and read the responses to my post, but...
If I was a M$ employee and I wanted to get more attention to the ARG I was running in the hope to hype the release of what I (they) hope to be Game of the Year... I might release some axons on a page conveniently labeled something related to the one about to cause hype. Give the fans of the ARG time to create pages and pages of specs, locations, stories and everything else. Some time for the search engine crawlers to pick then up, and become saturated with the key word(s). Then release the game (as scheduled), but I now have the hype of my new game creating new interest in my ARG from all of the pages being returned to people looking for the other.
Just a theory.

Do I think they did this... No. I don't think M$ thinks that far out and would have been involved enough to suggest it to Bungie in time to make it happen this conveniently. But hey, if it works... who's to argue? Bungie on the other hand IS that fiendish. But I expect this was just a coincidence.
