Sebastian Artois!?!?!
If you look at the culture section of the Hornchurch Star you see that a movie called "Pilot" was reviewed by Sebastian Torsia

Torsia=Artois?

I'm willing to bet lots on that, Zombie.

So, other than this being a huge network of references fo Stella Artois, does anyone see any plot-oriented things? The closest we've gotten, really, is Brigid looking for Jon and possibly working for S&S.

More! MORE!

*hungers for plot*

What really puzzles me is the weather forecast at http://www.hornchurchstar.com/weather_ok.php.
I have never seen these signs on any weather forecast around here (germany) and they look sort of strange.
The key might be the key to solve some other puzzle, but maybe I'm just on a totally wrong lead...

I don't think the signs mean anything..I've never seen anything like it before either...but what I did notice right away ( and its probably because I'm from the US) is that 93535 is a US Postal Zip Code....
It is a code for a city in California. Here's a link:

Harker's Website

I've been running through all the websites, and there have been several mentions (in Hornchurch Star, and find helpmefindjon.com) that a clue is hidden on Jon's website - hewalksamongus.com.
I'm new to ARG's - this is my first one - so I'm not sure what to look for, but I think efforts should be concentrated on those pages.

I've been poking around Jon's site, but nothing appears to have the classic arg-like puzzles, ie. nothing interesting in the source, no wierd capitalizations or details in pictures.

I have not checked anything for steg.

Jon's site

The only page in Jon's site that seems a little odd is http://www.hewalksamongus.com/about2.htm, mainly because of the image that pops up when you click on the "Fig. 1" link, which then loops you back to the same page - the whole setup seems too redundant.
I don't know if there might be something hidden within the images themselves.

Hi, I've been playing along for a while, not found this site though. the 'Horn' that keeps coming up is because Stella has two logos, one is the star and the other an old-fashioned hunting horn. Also, the crest on the book of star at: http://www.hewalksamongus.com/maninblack.htm is very similar to Stella's own crest. Finally, Doktor Faust
by Ferruccio Busoni
is the Opera based on the legend of the man who sold his soul to the devil- the reason it's called a Faustian pact.

If 'Geppetto' reads this, I'm looking for a job! Very Happy

Sorry to keep adding stuff, but the locations on the S&S website are fairly easily located, and the Elevation explained too; they're there to help you google for the locations! If only I'd realised that before downloading a little geocoder to work it out... Confused

Latitude: 50 45N, Longitude: 004 46E, Elevation: 417 feet -
http://www.weatherbase.com/weather/weather.php3?s=085460
Leuven, Belgium - where Stella originates.

Latitude: 48 06N, Longitude: 098 54W, Elevation: 1450 feet-
http://www.weatherbase.com/weather/weather.php3?s=075727
Devil's Lake, North Dakota.

So where are the other offices shown throbbing on the map on the S&S page?

In the interests of furthering focus on the soul assesment test, I looked up a few things on phrenology.

It was a pseudoscience used in the 1800s to explain personalities and mental disorders. The brain was divided into 35 or so areas, each responsible for a different trait. The Sable and Shuck test appears to use George Combe's list of phrenological areas of the brain. Have a look here:

http://pages.britishlibrary.net/phrenology/organs.html#combeconstorgans

In relation to Satan, phrenology was denounced by a lady named Ellen White thusly:

"Phrenology and mesmerism are very much exalted. They are good in their place, but they are seized upon by Satan as his most powerful agents to deceive and destroy souls."

You can read more here:

http://www.ellenwhite.org/phrenology.htm

*

Interesting stuff. Now to see if it'll help. Any ideas?

I don't know if it is relevent, but it seems almost everything in this game was designed/named/etc for a specific reason. Brigid is an unusual name for a Brit, so I looked it up (always keep a "big book of mythology" about the house!)- she was a Celtic godess...
http://druidry.org/obod/deities/brigid.html

So it could be that she's not a baddie, just misguided in accepting help from S&S?

Sorry - just registered to join in on this chat - registered on S+S months ago but after my Halloween email I went searching on Google for the experts.

Most of the stuff you have worked out is excellent. It seems that everything in this game has a relation to either:

- Stella Artois (e.g. 1366)
- Films & Literature (Jon Harker)

My question is not about who Brigid is but rather how do you answer her challenge - where is Jon?

Ok. Don't shout at me people, I'm new to all this so might be stating the obvious.

Since this seems to be either a UK or Belgian based game, could it be that the clues are there for Brits or Belgians to pick up, but not for the rest of us?

Marlowe makes references to seemingly real places in both UK and Belgium. Could they be a clue? Or could something be at the locations that is a clue? Hell, any of the locations in the whole game cou;d work like this Rolling Eyes

Also. I registered on Hewalksamongus earlier and got an email back from Jon - even though he is missing. If he could send an email, maybe he isn't missing. I have sent him an email but got no response yet.

Anyone else dying for a beer?

More references:

I'm not sure what Hoxton Square has to do with it - I've a feeling there may be something concrete to it, such as a clue at the location. I'll have a look tonight, but interestingly:
http://www.hackney.gov.uk/shoreditch_history.pdf (pdf) on page 3 it says:

Hoxton Square was laid out shortly after 1683. Hoxton and Charles Squares, were the most fashionable residential areas, Shoreditch included. One of the earliest Academies (of 1669) was in Hoxton Square. The squares were centres of illegal nonconformist sects.
