He could be in hiding. Sending emails from a laptop or an internet cafe. He is only missing because Brigid doesn't know where he is, and neither do we.

This, of course, raises the question: why is he hiding?

Hehehehehe...

It's "reassuringly expensive".

That said, the email you get when you register is an autoresponse that we've got back before Jon was missing... or reported missing at least.

The first sighting is at the ICA in London. Stella use the venue for their Afterdark events (referred to on other sites) and I'm thinking that the business cards really were there but never really got discovered. One past event is mentioned here.

The second sighting is taken from a Stella advert someone mentioned earlier in this thread... in the full photo, you can see a Trident Air plane in the background. The reference to Charlie Fort might be a nod to the late Charles Fort... a writer and researcher of unexplained phenomena.

I'd suggest that either Brigid or Jon (or both) were at the event as well as the Man In Black - it seems they picked up a souvenir or two... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4051358357

Good call on the eBay thing. Think it's a clue, or is it just another way of advertising the ARG?

I'm going to bid on the Flux magazine item, as it specifically mentions the House of Carde, which is only mentioned once on the Internet besides in this thread: the Sable and Shuck site. Please don't bid against me and drive up the price. Pretty please.

EDIT: Or maybe not. I lied. Some other guy's spending more money on it than I'd prefer to spend on a clue.

EDIT DEUX: I've emailed the high bidder telling him, in as soothing a tone as I could manage, what is going on and asking him to email me back if he notices anything odd about the magazine, especially an ad for goldenfuturesandoptions.com.

Flux

I went to Hoxton Square- nothing there that I could see. The park was unlocked so I had a look in the centre- unsurprisingly there wasn't a new office block. The only thing I could find was a broken fountain, about 1.5m tall, with a sticker on it. I took a photo of it and I've included it below. Indelible does seem to be a real DVD mag (here, here) but then so does Flux so what can I say? There were no bars called 'lounge lover' anywhere in the area.

Secondly, I've bid on Flux- inspired idea, checking out eBay! Maybe the previous bidder has been deleted or something. I'll scan in and let you all know about the mag if I get it.

http://www.fluxmagazine.com/ Seems real anough.

Also, has anyone else tried to google all the names in the Hornchurch Star? The eyewitness to the 'localised eclipse' was Frances Griffiths of Cottingley... The scientist was also called Estelle Starr (star star) None of the names seem to have been picked randomly, they all must have a meaning. Has anyone found anything on any of the others?

Next up: the UNKLE CD on sale on ebay has the URL http://www.hewhowalksamongus.com on the back; probably just another 'in' for those who attended the event, but I can't make out any of the rest of the text. Ignore the pointy-headed people, they're standard UNKLE stuff.

My theory is that they might have just taken the thing to Kinko's or something and somehow included extra pages in that specific copy of Flux. It's just that the thing that gets me is that Google turns up only this thread when I search for "House of Carde", and the eBay auction mentions it so explicitly. Shrug.

There's a phone number on the Flux site. Has anyone tried to phone them and ask for that certain issue to see if they can shed any light on the "House of Carde"? Maybe they could send over a PDF version or something...

I think it might be just a way for us to communicate with Brigid- there is an "ask seller a question" box.

Sorry to keep jumping topics like this, but does anyone know of a bar called 'lounge lovers' in London? It's mentioned on the Marlow page. I've tried to find it in lots of the online guides, but none list it- and they've found every esoteric bar mates have dragged me to over the last year or so!. The only mention I've found was in the comments box on Itchy's review of the Trois Garçons which is not enough evidence of its existence for me to spend another evening trudging in the cold around East London... Smile
