Nice to see this come back.

Ad campaign gone rogue?

Ah well, I'd sell my soul for a vacation right about now Smile

Has anyone succesfully completed the assesment?

My soul is worth 55 somethings.

Carefull what you wish for Watcher Smile I completed the assessment yesterday and received a 63 and 40(i think). Then I tried several reassessments, on the thought that maybe a certain value would trigger more information, but I always received 15 and 9 as my values no matter how I answered. Today I tried again and received a 55 and something else, 15 maybe? I haven't tried a reassessment today but maybe you can only try once every so often.

ophis: people of the serpent

The Shuck site mentions that the company was formally known as Ophis Incorporated. I did a google on Ophis and found some interesting info. Here is the link:
http://encyclopedia.thefreedictionary.com/Ophiussa

This is what stood out most for me:
Quote:
There is a legend that on the Summer Solstice a maiden-serpent, a Ctonic Goddess, revels the occult treasures to the forest explorers. The city of Oporto was were this maiden would live. Festivities related to this goddess occurred during the Solstice, while for the rest of the year this maiden transformes into a serpent living under and between the rocks, where shepherds would take some milk from their sheep to give to her.

The summer solstice is an astronomical term regarding the position of the Sun in relation to the celestial equator. The summer solstice is the date with the longest day and hence with the shortest night. This date usually falls on June 21/June 22 (in the Northern hemisphere) or December 21/December 22 (in the Southern hemisphere).

Could we be looking for a December 21/22 date for something to happen or be rewarded.

If it's cthonic, then that means there's a tie to HP Lovecraft...

Curious.

HP Lovecraft

Oh how I would LOVE an ARG that tied in with Lovecraft. Talk about a psychothriller, that guy was nuts. "Do not f*** with Chthulu." Anyway, I am intrigued, creeped out, and on board! Count me in!

My soul is only worth 50, and my derivitive was only 31. I feel so... hollow. Even so, i'd give it all up for a night with Milla Jovovich... if she isn't too pricey for me.

Sorry, I think Milla goes for around 70, and doesn't take derivitives. I hear Ashley Simpson stock has gone down recently. You might be able to pick her up for cheap. Wink

I'm wondering if this may be related to virtucube?

No, it is an ad promotion for Stella Artois created by Lowe London, one of the more innovative UK ad agencies. I'd actually tried to call them ages ago to find out more, but the guy who I left the vm for never called me back Wink

[Edit: Just logged in and been assesed, I got 65 with a 41 derivative... I'm guessing working in marketing won't help at all Wink]

[Edit again: I've linked to the Stella site above. It's a Belgian lager, and I don't believe it's widely available in the US. It is, however, one of the most popular premium brands in the UK, and has earned the nick-name "wife beater" due to its strength and the fact that it turns you a bit doolally if you drink too much of it!]

Hi

Seems like someone really took some time to make up the websites. I really love the details. For example, if you enter a wrong name and id (well, any name and id really, since no one has the right one yet probably...) at the online tracking at inferno cargo, it says "login prevented by cerberus".
Ceberus is a guardian in greek mythology http://www.pantheon.org/articles/c/cerberus.html.

Some references to Lager seem to pop up now and then all over the pages, it really seems to be an ad campaign for beer.
My first ARG and I always end up at the beers... ;)

So... It seems that the puzzle we need to solve now requires certain answers.

It said on the page that the purest souls will be in highest demand... So now for the question:

What defines a pure soul?

From my experience with the test, it seems that people who do not work in marketing or pr are "purer"...

Maybe we should start archiving the questions?

I think you can follow your progress through the test via the use of the thing on the right (those scores have to mean something!)

Any ideas?

not to nit-pick, but cthonic just means something dealing with the underworld, and has a greek root.....that's where Lovecraft got the word from...I just don't want anyone getting their hopes up for a Lovecraft ARG...although, that idea has some serious potential

Well, actually, there's a bit of a debate on the cthonic mythos and its origins, but it is said that lovecraft entirely invented the whole thing.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cthulhu

I know he did research on ancient greek culture, but there's still some debate here.

Either way, I think that a lovecraftian ARG would be fun though... Perhaps an internet version of Cthulu lives? And, this ARG is interesting nonetheless. Smile

Just jumped on board the Sable & Shuck bandwagon because I'm a sucker for HP Lovecraft.

So... I got the negotiations letter, and it says to resume contact at midnight. You guys waited a while for your User ID confirmation, so does that mean that mine will actually come at midnight tonight or do I have to wait for ages?
