Oh okay Caterpillar.. as it wasn't posted here I assumed that it had not been tried.

Okay, the frontdoor page seems to screw up my browser here at work for some reason, so I may need to try again when I get home. However, I did find something:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

The game at http://projectgateway0.tripod.com/fungame.htm apparently requires you to set all the boxes to zero. But it doesn't work for me, one click took me to the winner page. Hey, I'm not complaining Wink

This contains another key, strike.key (interestingly enough hosted on the 32ndnotes site) which I have emailed in to the gatewaykeyhole address.

According to the page, I guess I'll have to wait till midnight (which time zone??) to see what happens with it.

Where did the link to fungame come from? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

Anyways, seeing as how strike.key seems to be for CyberStrike in the first cell....

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
We also find slash.key at http://www.freewebs.com/32ndnotes/slash.key for CyberSlash in the second cell.

Sorry Stormalong - I found that link in the source. I assumed that it was normally displayed on the page, but perhaps my browser had screwed it up. I guess not Wink

There are two other links suggested in the source - programmer.htm and slash.htm, but I can't get to them. Good find on slash.key! Have you emailed it in?

Ah, I found it now. Yes, I did email it in.

I figured out what to do with those keywords.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Open the secondary command prompt (from the project page) and type in either "programmer", "slash" or "strikeupagame".

strikeupagame we know, slash leads to a blank page that has stuff in the source. Haven't decoded it yet but I'm guessing it will lead to slash.key, which we already have (heh). programmer goes to a page with a bunch of interesting info (check the source).

This game is really starting to move!

Programmer and slash don't work for me, whether i type them in the command prompt, or type them in the address bar manually. I either get a 404 or a 'You must come to this page from frontdoor.htm".. which is where I was Rolling Eyes Can you post links and I'll see if I can get them that way?

Fabulous, thanks. Here is the text in the source of programmer.. just in case...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

//Programmer's Diary, April 23rd, 2004 -

//Here I sit in my own little cell, laptop on my lap and a cruddy notebook sitting next to me along with a gun.
//If you found this, well then, you're smarter than those other idiots who kidnapped me. Then again, who would guess
//to type "programmer" on the front page of CC32.

//Capture Code 32... nicknamed Project "Gateway into Nightmares"... what a joke. No, the program isn't a joke. I don't
//make fun of my own work... It's just that the whole concept is a joke. Especially when I'm sitting behind the wheel.
//Don't those bastards realize that I'm going to screw up all their plans somehow? Maybe Shadown knows, but Darkblade
//sure doesn't. And McGaffey and Vargus have no clue either. That's why they are the lackies and Shadown is the leader.

//But I'll never be Shadown's lackey, no matter what he threatens me with.

//Anyway... I should get to the point. The point is, if this works, humanity is screwed - Hence the "Programmer's Profile"
//comment.

//Shit, they're coming... I'll get back to this later, in another file.

//-Steven Roberts

I particularly like the way this guy spells his name differently at every possible opportunity Wink

EDITED to add - This little game does look promising, lots of characters, interesting-sounding premise, and it looks from the cell listing that we have plenty of future puzzles to get all the keys.. whatever it is that they turn out to do Wink

Sorry to double post, but..

I just received an email from Emily, who I contacted via her online form. I basically told her I had come by her website in an odd manner, and asked her about the corruption on the website.

Quote:

Jehane,

Well, I can't say that you would be the first one to ask me about the
corruption. Lol, many people have asked and tried to fix it before, but

without any luck.

Here's what we know.

1. I upload a file, and the upload is quite delayed. Like, I upload it,
and
then it appears available to download 2 minutes later.

2. The corruption goes at different paces. It's weird. Some songs get

really corrupted really fast, and others sorta resist it. And some others

are just totally skipped. You would think that it would corrupt all of

them, wouldn't it? They're all being uploaded via the same medium.

I remember I uploaded the song "Superheroes" by Daft Punk, and
that one got
murdered. I re-downloaded it, and I couldn't even recognize the song
anymore.

3. It only seems to be the songs so far. Nothing else is getting touched.

Very weird.

So, um, yeah, that's that.

So how did you find my website? I know you said it was a long story and
a
strange medium, but I would like to hear it. I like to hear all the stories

about how people find my website!

So many people visit, but so few write e-mails and contact me. *Sigh*
I
wish more of these mysterious hits would talk to me like you have.

Sincerely,
Emily Freedman

Her email address is thirtysecondnotesSPLAThotmail.com. I have just replied to her email, asking for a copy of the Daft Punk song, and trying my best to explain how I made it to her site.

Not sure if there is anything in this, but in the source of slash.htm, a couple of sections stand out.

They are 151040141155040155171040165163145162156141155145

and 1155171040163157156147040151163040155171040160141163163167157162144

The rest of the numbers seem to follow a sequence, but they give me a headache so I can't be sure.

From Emily again (I asked her for the Daft Punk file she mentioned in her last email, and told her I was working on finding out why the corruption was happening with a group of friends):

Quote:

Here, I put it up on my website. Then you and all of your friends can download it. Ehh... it so bad that my PC can't even play it anymore. I think it got worse when I uploaded it again.

-Emily

She has posted an update to her my favourite music page, which goes like this:

Quote:

Don't download this!

This is a file for a person who requested this. It is unplayable because it is so badly corrupted. Please, don't download this and expect it to play right!

Jehane, this is for you!

Superheroes - Daft Punk - Really really really corrupted.... Try your luck with it.

/me is chuffed to get a mention Very Happy (Jehane's my real name)

Downloading it now, though I'm not sure entirely where to look for the hidden messages.

EDIT: fragments of text can be found in notepad: Italics bits are my comments.

No problem.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

Simple hex to ASCII conversion.
Code:
|  shall unlock         |________________________________ /
|  sonic bliss.         | ____    _       __   ___      _/
|                       |/    \  / \     /  \_/   \    /

|     Gate#3223         |            \_/            \/
\-----------------------/

However, you will note that it is incomplete. The rest of it may appear earlier in the file encoded in a different way.

I'm going to be hanging out in #projectgateway on chat-solutions, if anyone working on this wants to come chat.
