National Treasure Movie

The website is up for Disney's newest family adventure flick "National Treasure". It's about Nick Cage searching for a lost colonial treasure with clues hidden in the dollar bill and the back of the Declaration of Independence, so it has some definite ARG'er interest. The site's got some little puzzles on it, and you can collect 'tokens' that grant access to other parts of the site. It's pretty simplistic stuff, but if you're bored waiting for clues in your current game, or have kids who aren't quite old enough to get into a real ARG, it might be fun.

Sap and I were working on this thing. He told me it was a pigpen cipher. Using this cypher: http://www.scouting.org.za/codes/pigpen.html we came up with the letters around the wheel of:
ABCDEFGHIIJ .. KLMNOPQRSVVWYY

I noted that the double letters spell IVY.

Not sure how this helps us at all, since there doesn't seem to be a place to input any solve.

It could be a different pigpen arrangement, too.

tokens

Alas, nothing happens when you collect all 48 tokens, but it was too much fun doing it.

national treasure

The good news is: the movie is really good. It's fun to watch the process of Mr. Gates as he solves clues and cyphers. Very ARG.

Ah, using the computer to figure out the anagrams! Brought back memories. And the number cipher to find each letter in the old letters, ah - made my tummy tingle....I enjoyed it.

Next up, Da Vinci Code (but, please, Tom Hanks????) Yes, that is according to this week's issue of Entertainment Weekly. I was hoping for someone a little younger, maybe in his late 30's (since we are pretty hopeful there will be another book, or two, in the series).

I just came back from it. I had a smile all the way though that movie.

Addition to 'You know you spend too much time on unfiction when..."

... You can relate to the movie National Treasure in a realistic way.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The part where they had to be at the top of the clocktower at 2:22 gave me ILB flash backs. Man, that was intense.. xD

Definitely and ARG movie. If you haven't seen it yet, GO!

I enjoyed this movie VERY much. To me, it was an ARG played out on screen. Truly superb from an ARGer's point of view. I would recommend it to anyone and everyone here at Unfiction.
