Nice stuff in the source hey?
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
function Record()
function PlayRecording()
//File Obtained August 23rd, 2002
//Dr. Kryer: At last! The Altar of the Elements! I found it!
//Darkblade: You mean we found it, right Doctor?
//Dr. Kryer: Ah! Daniel! I thought you were coming tomorrow.
//Darkblade: I was, but then I got a vacation. Plus the office gets boring, and I would rather
//watch you work.
//Dr. Kryer: Well... I'm sorry I got done early. Sorry I couldn't show you the art of archeology.
//Darkblade: Right. Well, early is best. Means we can get to work sooner.
//Dr. Kryer: Get to work?
//Darkblade: Yeah, get to work. Gentlemen, pack them up!
//Dr. Kryer: No! What are you doing? I thought we were going to give them to the priests.
//Darkblade: I think not.
//Dr. Kryer: You don't work for the priests?
//Darkblade: I guess I don't.
//*sounds of gunfire and screaming*
//Dr. Kryer: No! *Sound of a gun being cocked* My team...
//Dr. Kryer: Who are you?
//Darkblade: Just someone who's looking out for the good of the country.
//*Single gunshot*
function RecordEnd()

Interesting things from the page..
Quote:
Someone Interested (in the) Great Natural American Leaders (always seems to be) + "in the dark"
= SIGNAL + "in the dark" What does this refer to? Something to do with darkblade?
Clicking the 'dark' button takes you to a 404: http://home.comcast.net/~projectgateway/name_rowen_darkblade.htm. But useful to know that Rowen == Darkblade.
Clicking the 'white' button gives another 404: http://home.comcast.net/~projectgateway/name_section_white.htm
And also for CStrike:
http://home.comcast.net/~projectgateway/name_cyberstrike.htm

Above taken from where "info" takes you.
Jehanels' connection is obvious. DigitalTrickster is also a member of these forums. He's posted 6 messages, none of them particularly meaningful-looking, and he's not mentioned anywhere else--he's not even commented on this particular subject. What does he have to do with anything? Also, does anybody recognize any of those other names (other than jehanels), possibly on some of the other forums the first messages were posted to?
Tried all the buttons at the top of the "info" page--"white", "Cstrike" and "Dark take you to 404, the others seem to do nothing. Pressing "Cstrike" tries to take you to a page called "name_cyberstrike.htm", and "Dark" tries to go to "name_rowen_darkblade.htm"
Tried clicking on the "You've got to die for your government" link, which gets a login prompt. Tried DarkBlade/White and various permutations therof, but got nowhere.
Rowen is mentioned at the bottom of the page, along with Shadown--Shadown already has been mentioned in connection to Cyberstrike (reference the Superheroes extraction). Both Darkblade and Shadown seem to be the only normally authorized accessors of the cells, judging by the cell list. Jehanels hacked the other one. Cyberstrike says he's one of the leaders, but he never "accesses" the cells himself.
Speculation: "Cell" is used in the context of "terrorist cell", though they may not be terrorists. Think semi-independent groups of operatives/functions. Each of the names on the cell list is a leader of a cell in an organization spearheaded by Darkblade and Shadown, who are using a program made by Stephen Roberts (against his will). Stephen is doing his best to throw a monkeywrench in the plans (did he trap Cyberstrike?), and there's been some other sloppiness in security too, giving us a toehold in the system.
Anyone notice there are 32 cells, and the music site is 32nd notes?
Anyway, looks like we need to decode the block of code from the Superheroes extraction to make any real headway. I've done a little messing about with a table and I've positively identified that it is just Hex code and translates to meaningful data, which makes sense since previous codes were just Octal. Unfortunately I don't have the right software to do a proper translation (and I don't really know Hex), so if anyone else can help...?

Well, as you probably know, Jehanels is me.. I hate that email address too
Bleeding ex-boyfriend pet names...
And I imagine that the other 'known users' are basically the first part of their email addresses that they've been using to send in keys and whatnot, for example I'm jehanels at lycos dot co dot uk.
-varineq must be Varin
-estern I assume is Stormalong as he got banned
-filia_ludi rings a bell, I remember someone on the forums mentioning having this address.
The hex code was translated by Stormalong into a partial key here .
Nice spec on the cells, it's a very interesting thought.

Oops, didn't realize the partial key WAS the hexcode. Oh well--at least I figured it out myself, eh? And I just remembered that estern was Stormalong. Presumably the others are also emails, as you said.

And wildfireindustries is me, if anyone couldn't figure that one out.

by the way, I've submitted the cryocutter key to cell 3227 that was in
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
the deepdarkness file...
(I looked and didn't see that anyone else had done so...) But I'm not sure I did it right... I sent it here:

is that right?
Also, here's the key itself, for those interested (and again, if you saw it before, feel free to delete the post... not trying to trout.

Well done on finding that Dorkmaster! IIRC, the last time we looked we didn't find anything in that mp3.
However, you need to send the key to gatewaykeyholeSPLAT hotmail.com as otherwise it will be rejected...
Also, it needs to have the filename format whateveryouwanthere.key

megamaduo is mine, and seeing as all I did so far is enter my E-mail in the slot on the tripod site, i'd say thats where the names come from.

with the "whateveryouwanthere" part... is that specific, like I was thinking it had to be (in my example) Cryocutter.key Or am I entering it as if it's my "username" like DMslowbee.key or somethin?
I just wanna know before I screw it up (again, since I already sent it once to the 32notes newsletter email.)
edit - or is it literally "whateveryouwantthere.key"

Sorry for not being clear DM
I would keep it as Cryocutter.key - but according to the project gateway site it can be anything as long as it has .key at the end.

One other newbie question, if I may (just for clarification) and it is tangential, but still on topic...
When the cell list updates at midnight (or the key stuff at least...) has that been determined to be midnight in a certain timezone (I know it's not a time-critical thing, and I won't be able to check anywhere near midnight anyway... but still... I'm curious.)
Anyway, that's it, and I'll just actually play after this one...
Thanks for your help, Sequoya!!!
edit - THANKS! mid EST... got it

Stormalong were on IRC last night and I said "Oh, look, it's midnight here." and then we both noticed that the website had changed (And "banned" him, lol!). So I would say that it changes at midnight Eastern Standard Time (EST).
Speaking of ban, I wonder what the ban does or means?
