[EMAIL] Randall Thomas Part Uh-oh

Here's my original email to him:

You didn't listen, and you failed to heed.
I'm posting the info for all to read.
Maybe the above link for you will show,
How serious the explosion could really blow.

If you try me, WE'll have some fun.
Look out, or WE'll get you on the run.
What you see is just a small taste,
More to come, don't act in haste.

If you help, I'm sure you'll do great,
Then send us a bill, send us your rate.
What they shell out isn't enough,
To make up for the coming rough.

Here's what I got back.

Your attempt at bad poetry would normally be amusing perhaps, but I am in
no mood for levity at the moment. I don't have the time for it either,
quite frankly.

Unfortunately, the message post you have referenced in your e-mail has
indeed changed this entire situation dramatically and it appears what time
I thought I did have has all but vanished completely. I was hoping to
resolve this matter before things escalated to this point, in hopes of
sparing Ron and others the consequences of his actions. Believe it or not,
your actions may have made that impossible now, no matter what I do.

So it appears I threw a huge cog into their wheels. If Ron gets wacked its not really my fauly -- exactly Smile It's not like they were going to say "Hey Ronnie, come back and we'll share a coke and a smile."

I believe I need to make the post as to why I sent the email to Randall in the first place. It's easier to say it here once, then repeat it many times over in a channel during trips to Spec World.

1) His position in TT seemed a bit sketchy to me. Before him I believe Greg Boyle was Director of Operations. Even if he wasn't, there was only a Director of Operations before, and now it seems to be VP of Operations, Randalls position.

2) Read the email that Nog's "friend" had from Randall. See here for the Nuroslime email. In it, Randall says he has "resources in place now to deal with the multiple sources of difficulty", and then "Let's just say we all have incentives to conclude this as quickly as possible. ", followed by "If I don't hear from you by the end of this week, do not bother to contact me again."

To me, this seems like there was a window to act inside. His choice of words, whether empty or not, seem like he has gorillas hired and is also prepared to do payoffs. Kill Ron and Ed, and threaten and/or pay off others who know something but haven't done the extent they have.

3) As everyone knows, the others that know about Dread House have not met such desireable outcomes.

4) Randall seems to be a newer person. I hope by doing something like this, and I was prepared to do more, this would show Randall that maybe he doesn't want to get involved or that if he doesn't know all of what happened, he'll soon find out. Either way, he'd not want to get involved and maybe flip him. If he's crooked where he may hire thugs to kill and hurt people, then he'd also be open to the possibility of doing some blackmail.

5) I didn't slashdot anyone Smile I posted a text copy of one memo on there under a story titled "How to leave a bad job" or something like that. I posted with a new account, and it had NOTHING that could really link back to TT in it, without someone else doing some digging. I didn't link to TT, the forums here, or anything. Only people that really saw the link was Randall and a couple people I showed on IRC.

6) I was also hoping to show TT that there is a LOT of information out and there are multiple people that have it. So if they ice Ed, Ron, JC, whomever, there are still others out there. It can't be buried easily.

Any other questions, just ask.
