[SPEC] Beekeepers?

I think I had an epiphany about this whole thing the other day. A lot of people involved in this game seems to be calling themselves the "Beekeepers"; from the posts I've seen and the axon video docs. But from watching this whole thing unfold something has occured to me. We are NOT the beekeepers, we are the BEES!!!

Think about it. How BUSY we've all been, how efficient, how much teamwork has been involved. We are the bees. We are the hive. Think of the axons as flowers and we have ourselves a pretty loaded metaphor there.

I don't mean to bring anyone down in status, just something I was thinking. I'm the laziest bee in the bunch, though, I haven't really done anything yet Confused .

At least we know someone loves us.

Personally, I like "beekeepers..." although your analogy is frighteningly accurate, "beekeeper" is simple, recognizable, and catchy.

At payphone:

CHERRY: Hey, are you a bee?
SOMEBODY ELSE: Um, not that I know of...

You get the idea.

Well, at least no one can accuse us of still being "new-bees."

Oh my gosh, and you know what else? The bees in a colony serve the Queen Bee no matter what. Which brings to mind what we are doing, connecting the axons, allowing the "crew" to be located, helping Dana, finding the identity, my gosh...you might be on to something...

Actually.. we are not the bees.. we are the beekeepers of the bees because the bees are not real.. the queen thinks we are the bees.. but we are the ones behind the bees. Whatever happened to the real bees? I mean if a ship crashes and the computer survives.. shouldn't atleast ONE person about that ship survived.. I mean would the queen really try to communicate with something that she knows doesn't exist.. wouldn't she have looked at the probability of survivors? and how did she land in the timeframe? wouldn't the covenant landed in the timeframe as well? could the crash have been soo severe that she warped through time before she hit ground? and wouldn't the Apocolypso have been destroyed by then?

Not that it isn't interesting to contemplate everyone's role in this, and I know this isn't going to be popular (nor too original, either, I am sure) for me to say, but...
We are neither beekeepers nor bees. We are merely pawns in corporate manipulation. This is an advertisement for Halo 2, is it not? It's a fun game, and look at my other posts if you don't think I am not being manipulated myself (I hunt axons with the best of them), but let us not be fooled or lose sight of the true purpose of it all from the manufacturer's point of view. Bungie is using ilovebees to create a buzz, if you will, about it's latest product.

hmr,

I think most of us on this board are AWARE of the fact that this is some form of viral marketing by Bungie. heck, read up near the top of every page: "Welcome! Halo Fans, PLEASE read these guidelines..." blah blah.

but the creators of this ARG have definitely put some thought into the storyline, and they definitely consider us SOMETHING. I wouldn't be surprized if we ARE supposed to be the bees. it makes sense. (but, to be fair, so does the beekeeper theory also mentioned in this thread.)

anyway, sit back, relax, and let yourself forget that none of this is, in fact, real. let it take you for a ride.

Naturally. But at the same time, it IS one enjoyable game.

wjhen you think cause and effect and trace things back, it all goes to a saingle motivation. ILB is as you said. When I oppen my haunted house several years from now, it will also have an ARG attached with a two fold purpose: to advertise and to bring forth the mythology surrounding it. And to have ties and charity work for the haunt with the local churches and towns would be not only to establish good community relations but to bring in money into the township, plus to also allow me my dream of running said haunt at my place Smile....

quid pro quo lives....

so if, as mentioned, we are Bees...what would that make the Sleeping Princess, since she's the one that seems to be commanding us at the moment?
perhaps she has replaced the Queen...or maybe she's some sort of invasionary queen from another hive?
