the glass eater also says:
"It's not always cruel to be kine,"

kine instead of kind

at first i thought it was klein, like a klein bottle, could be a play-on-words... but its "kine"... not sure what thatm means, its not a word
"kein" is the german adjective form of "no", like "keine hosen" (no pants)

From thefreedictionary.com:

Pronunciation: kīn
Noun 1. kine - domesticated bovine animals as a group regardless of sex or age; "so many head of cattle"; "wait till the cows come home"; "seven thin and ill-favored kine"- Bible; "a team of oxen"

Most likely biblical as well as the other references of late...

I just have a few more speculations on the Perdita = Melissa thing...

(all quotes come from the Operator's Monologue)

Quote:
Everything, I can feel the traffic, my skin is sliding around, pores opening and closing, feels like empty shell cases rattling in my

When the CR shakes, isn't it often described as a rattling sound?

Quote:
Not a real network, after all. Copper and silicon and every now and then some FIBER? Christ, what's next? Tin cans and twine?

Perdita's father works with tin cans.

Quote:
Losing shape, spilling out, me not me anymore, just ... material again, shaped into another, cruder piece of ordnance.

As the days went on, Perdita was cut apart, and was no longer herself.

Like someone else had said... Melissa is probably seeking revenge on the SP because she is leaking out all this information.

Therefore, how are Melissa and the SP related in the first place? Apparantly, the SP knows what happened to Melissa. So maybe she had something to do with her malfunctions?
