[UPDATE] CMH (Oct 1) --> new site www.iaminvisible.com

Quote:
Well it's just been a darn weird and upsetting week all the way around.

First the unsettling incident with Old Todd, and then I received an email from an investigator who found my site and is after information about old, unsolved murders in town or at the hospital. Claims he's found some connections.

By golly how would I know anything about murders other than what's in the papers.

I phoned him and agreed to show him about the place, and I guess I'll be mighty busy if everyone who says they are coming actually shows up. I heard from another fellow who claims to have some knowledge about this whole 'Dread House' thing and wants to share it with me in exchange for showing him around. Where do all these people come from, anyway?

The investigator says he has a website called "Im Invisible", but I haven't had the time or inclination to look at it, my mind has been far too fully occupied with trying to come up with a way to help Todd. The whole situation sounds a little kooky to me, and added to the fact the guy thinks he's invisible, well....I think I'll definitely be on my guard.

Unsolved murders aren't exactly my cup of tea, and I've had about enough of the Dread House stuff. But maybe I can use it as an opportunity to look for Old Todd.

Site mentioned by Charles: www.iaminvisible.com . Looks in-game to me (e.g. stuff like "seventh of seven")

The author wants to contend that the twelve underscore blank signature is "iaminvisible" but, to be obstinant, I'll make another suggestion:

"thebutterfly"

Well, very interesting stuff on the news page....

I'm packing for Minnesota.

I've heard back from one gentleman who seems to know the Cambridge, MN area and its asylum pretty well and is willing to talk and show me around the place. Although he's not aware of any unsolved murders in the area, with a little luck and a lot of digging I will find what I'm looking for.

I hope to visit any official unsolved case files while I'm there, as well as talk to some of the older locals. 1839 is a long time ago, but as I've learned many times over during this investigation, the memory of the community is long and deep.

the seat of insanity
1839 cambridge

Sent to my old office, no return address, postmarked St. Paul, MN.

I know some people believe I'm crazy for thinking one person could be responsible for the crimes committed on all of these dates. You'll just have to trust me, there are more things in this life that we do not understand than we do. And there is more to this murderer than meets the eye.

I wasn't sure what line to take with this. There are at least six or seven "Cambridges" in the US, that I knew of. However, I did locate a "Cambridge" in Minnesota that has/had an on site asylum, and it's this in his "seat of insanity" remark, that I think he may be referring to.

It's a start.

I have found scant internet presence or contact information, but for the two or three I did find, I have submitted requests for dialogue.

The gravestone at CMH was dated 1839.

In #urbanhunt Kender just noticed this page. While the page is different, it is the same "images" and same text as when the Urban Mythology page was hacked... Was that in-game then? Does someone dislike this ARG?

Looks like the first hack, so I'm guessing it's out of game. Bloody hell.

r00t System is an actual hacking group, or whatever you want to call it. They seem to be based out of Brazil. You can find many of their hacks here: http://www.google.com/search?q=r00t+System&btnG=Search&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8

It's just black now.

To quote Nigel Tufnel:
"Ow much blacker could it be? NONE. None blacker..."

It's all back up now.

From the first evidence page.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
After lunch on June 18, 1978, I arrived back at the office and found a small package on my desk. Although postmarked Jersey City, there was no return address, only some very colorful stamps picturing a myriad of butterflies. Inside was a key to a bus or train station locker, with a crude "J.C." etched into it. My immediate thoughts were that it stood for "Jersey City", the place in which the package had been postmarked. I then had to wonder why I was being sent a key to a locker in a city a thousand miles away. I thought it possible that the package might be some sort of anonymous tip or clue to the two unsolved murders I had been investigating and reporting on, and if that was the case then maybe the closer "Jefferson City" might hold the key (or rather the locker). So I took the two hour trip to the Jefferson City train station, found the locker number and, not really expecting it to fit, held my breath.

From the second evidence page.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
In Villisca, during the night of June 9, 1912 an unknown assailant, entered the home of Josiah B. Moore and bludgeoned to death Josiah, his wife Sara, their four children and two neighbor girls who were spending the night. I found it intriguing that the initials of the first physician on the scene, were none other than J.C.

A coincidence? Probably. Eerily reminiscent of the etched letters on the locker key? Yes sir.

. . . . Jaime IDed herself as JC to us for a long time. Creepy plot twist or did the PMs just forget?

...or intentional red herring...?

Also to consider: Jaimie, being a girl, is not immune from also being a serial killer incarnation.

Definitely creepy plot twist. I'm begining to have serious suspicions about Jamie.
All of the DH evidence just happened to be sent to her...

SPEC: Jamie took the Dreah House videos.

Oh no! Ron! He's with her.

Hubby reports that the knife is a "Tanto" blade, known as the short utility knife of a ninja or a samuri. Ninja's are known to be "invisible". Probably OT, but thought I'd share that little tidbit of info.

Maybe we should try to get him on the DH case, get him to see a connection somehow. Or maybe a deal, if he helps us, we'll help him. He seems to have the mind, and it would be great to have another person on our side.

TomorrowsTalk -> IAmInvisible & TheSevenSons

From http://www.iaminvisible.com/investigation2.html:

A bookmark was found in a book in the car of a victim of the 1966 San Fransisco Zodiac killing:
Quote:

It read, in a choppy, unfamiliar script:

In nova fert animus mutatas dicere formas
corpora; di, coeptis (nam vos mutastis et illas)
adspirate meis primaque ab origine mundi
ad mea perpetuum deducite tempora carmen!

They found it a bit odd as the victim did not write or speak Latin.

The translation is from Ovid's Metamorphoses, Book One, The Creation of the World:

Of bodies changed to various forms, I sing
Ye Gods, from whom these miracles did spring
Inspire my numbers with coelestial heat
Till I my long laborious work complete

The note in the latest encrypted 'webmaster tools' file from Tomorrows Talk has another quote from Ovid's Metamorphoses:
Quote:

possibly linking TT to the invisible killer.

The note also has the text "septem filius", possibly linking TT to TheSeventhSons.

So now we have a SPEC link between Tomorrows Talk, The Seventh Sons and the Invisible Killer…
