[Hardcore Meta] The Republican and Herald

Something that needs saying - is it just me, or does the Republic and Herald seem...real? As in, not just "this is a good ARG website real" but real real.

What the hell does that do to this game?

So far, every website that we know was in game has been free. Now, we have a link to what appears to be a real website (their archives appear to be complete,) containing information which is (presumably) linked to the game.

Or am I missing something obvious about the legitimacy of this website?

I think the paper is real, and the PMs are using it. For example, it's like saying "The Chicago Tribune had this to say about the accident" and linking to another "created page" that steals the graphic content of the actual paper's site, but repurposed for the game...

So it's a real paper (apparrently) and a fake story. So while there may or may not be legal issues with that, I don't care, cuz I think it's good gaming!

(Especially since it's a smaller-town paper. I like that touch!)

I've checked every link that said (comcast) anywhere in the link. All are blank 404s (with nothing in source, nor anything hidden on the page).

Also, all the "real audio" links (obituaries, sports and weather) are all real too, and of no assistance to us...

Just for the record....

I think somebody did a very good cut and paste job and should be commended.
