i've been posting at the bungie.net forums and lurking here and lighting NYC axons.
somehow today i answered the 11:17 PDT phone for "not anymore" and became a sargent (don't know the ranking system well enough, didn't want to go too high or say something that doesn't exist).
so i thought i'd say hey to you all.
Melissa sounded real, but i suspect it was just a really awesome Turing test. she did repeat my name back to me though without hesitation and later in the conversation called me sargent (the rank i chose), but she still sounded very AI and scripted. i guess it's cheaper just to hire an awesome actress...

So the question, with all of this, is WHY IS DURGA INTERESTED IN KAMAL?
We believe that two theories remain, then:
1) Durga is Kamal's sister, brain-flashed for the AI process
OR
2) Durga is looking to recruit another brain for a good AI, which is why she checks out Ronni, Jan and Kamal, all smart and good for AI brainflashing.
what do you think?
I lean strongly towards #1, since it explains her interest in Kamal, and ties together the story about his sister. Durga's interest in Jan is easily explained since Kamal was the one who basically asked Durga to spy on her to begin with.
The Ronni plot is not so easy to dismiss however. We have not seen any evidence of a link back to Durga so far. I guess I still believe it is #1, and that the links to the Ronni plot will be revealed in time.
Dude.... brain_ninjas Confirm that Durga is made from a Human Brain. Who's Brain is the Question?. Kamal's Sister is the Best Choice.

I wonder how many crewmembers she's scouting... 35 or 40?

Re: [UPDATE] 777= AXON SPIKE RENDEVOUS I will, no doubt, be fired for this.
But I will be at the 14:09 axon in Burbank.
If that doesn't work, I will try to rearrange my schedule some more and get the 18:49 and 19:11 axons in Burbank and California, respectively. I haven't seen any action in the Los Angeles area coordination thread , so I'm assuming no one else will be at these.
If all of the crew positions are taken by then, so be it.
But I will still weep openly and freely.

Mann Alive - welcome, and thanks for the axon!
Not to worry - I think the Marines may have sergeants (no Sergeants in the Navy). You're with Col. xnbomb
shad0 - me too - gonna try to sneak out for one of the Georgetown Cinema ones later if possible.

Shad0, try for Admiral! We don't have one yet... You'd be outranking everyone!

Yeah, like Melissa won't already know the names of all the Admirals.

Someone should identify themselves as MasterChief or Cortana or something, and find out if the PMs are willing to lean on the 4th wall.

Well, I answered the 12:03 PDT axon, and I did not get the "live" Melissa.
I think we can rule out that it has anything to do with how many times a particular axon has gone hot because mine has gone hot every time.
I see that weephun got the live call in my group. Way to go!!!

Shad0, my mom is going to try and make the 14:09 axon also. So if you see a lady with red/brown hair checking out the pay phones ask if her son sent her...

I can see it now... Admiral Angelo's Mom....
Shad0, please make it!
edit to let angelo know I'm not making fun of you or your mom... just think it would be funny to have a sucessful live enhottenation with someone completely ignorant to the story or the plot (someone just following their son's direction, for instance) and then getting clip-ranked, and well, yeah... it's just funny, but it would be for anyone's mom, not just yours...
