And I wish there were some in my area.

Um, if anyone else out there picks up a live call, as it were, would you be able to inform Melissa that there are some crew members stranded in isolated areas (such as myself and about a couple dozen other Beekeepers at last count)?

Wait, you're going to play as if your decisions don't matter?

Might it be possible that there are several branches this story might take depending on user input?

Well, now we know what happens when someone mentions BOTH the SP and PF. Melissa ignores the part about the PF and asks for more info on the SP.

Crew sticks together. Wink

I ask of you this, Slacktron: If you'd been standing there, a payphone to your ear and suddenly something is different, clearer, and Melissa's there asking for help trying to isolate this rogue process that is causing her so much havoc, what would you do? You'd do exactly what every one of us has done and say you'd help her in anything.

I hear you. I liked the SP too. She's very cool and very imaginative and definitely has a lot to offer the game. But Why, oh Why would the PM's direct us so heavily towards isolating her again if not for a purpose? Why would they make it nearly impossible to say no if we weren't meant to say yes?

And I actually agree with you. The SP probably shouldn't have been locked up again. But there's something important in that. It's our job to find out what that is.

Thank you for your exceedingly passionate input. It's people like you who keep ILB going when it drags, and make it even more interesting when it's not dragging. Thank you.

By the way, weephun ... it's totally obvious that the PM's meant to do this to you. Wink

All you have to do is look at the phrase "Without him, this dangerous and criminal process would still be free." to realize how much the PM's knew that the beekeepers would try to tear you apart. Razz

I for one think you rock the proverbial Casbah.

Both for answering the way you did (even then you had to know that it would not be a very popular choise), and for not telling us that you did. (Because that would have ruined the surprise when the next update came.)

Judging from the reactions, I would say that this was brilliantly executed by the PMs. We have been shaken out of the daily (weekly) routine of puzzles and 404 messages and are left scrambling to figure out what to do next.
.
.
Also keep in mind that Dana has yet to weigh in on the latest events. She may end up in danger as well very soon.

I totally agree with everything SuperDiamond said in his last post.
As for Dana, I sent an e-mail warning her a few hours ago with some advice too Wink .

I find it funny that the only ppl defending Weephun are on the ppl on Melissa's crew Very Happy, it sounds like they're conspireing, but I know they're not... they just made it sound that way...
I'm with with ya Weephun (salute)

peace out-

Is this Jan James' picture??

I think we can all agree that the Lieutenant did his job. There's no point in answering a phone at this stage if you can't get yourself to be a crew member, and we all know that helping Melissa is a good way toward this.

For those of us that can't, we have to work against the Crew... WITH the Crew.

Which makes it interesting. Because the crew has to act on the assumption that they're being monitored, but they also want to do whatever is in their power to help us.

The really puzzle to consider now is the names of the Sleeping Princess...

EDIT:

Weephun, the background noise when Melissa is talking to you, when she's telling you about the spy - was that there in the recording on the phone? It sounds like extra noise, like an extra audio track. It's really fanit but it comes through. Was it there the first time? During the live interview? (OOG: Was it a "digital" effect to make Melissa sound like a program, or did she just speak to you? I didn't notice it during any of the others' conversations, that's why I'm asking.)

Further:

It seems almost musical... and it seems to happen during the short pauses, when you're not talking, and she's not. It's not in any of the other wav files... was there a lot of background noise where you were? Possibly an arcade machine? It seems unlikely that it would come through so clearly enough to notice, unless it was right next to you... It'd be interesting if another layer was hidden (possibly a clue about SP) in the very recording that brought about her imprisonment.

And... fitting somehow.

I'd like to know if anyone else hears this or if I'm just an idiot. That would be helpful.

I was in a hotel lobby with music playing in the background and some people walked by. Don't think it's anything special.

Well, its 4:44AM here. Just finished playing ~10hrs of Halo with my best buddies to try to de-stress some ... sort-of worked. I'll check my email in the morning for the whole SP email thing and let you all know.

Yes. Go here: http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=76924#76924 for the full story.

And SP's not her real name. It's not going to be THAT easy.

Check it, what if her real name is Yasmine? Go here and read from the beginning to get the full story, it makes alot of sence once you read it all.

And also to weephun, my first reaction was to curse you as well, as the Sleeping Princess was (is must keep saying is) my favorite AI. I understand, however, that they were just waiting for someone to give up the location, and you were just the first one to do it. So, even though Melissa is definitly a crazy person (you'll notice her montra has been completely replaced with the Flea's at this point) I understand that you really were thinking on your feat, and with not enough time to process the info, I'd have probably said the same thing.

So, no hard feelings Weephun.
