[SPEC] Trying to tie it all together

40h discusses "theta waves", a few other places called this "the hum" And this is where we will start.

On 40h, there is a chart that shows how certain levels of theta waves affect the human mind. It shows that certain levels provoke meditative states, certain levels provoke a state of panic. These ideas are not new ones. There are theories that certain levels of "sounds" can produce paranormal activity, including the concept that on a certain level, our mind is opened to that of the "beyond".

This may or may not be the case here. This is where my spec takes its first fork. I'll discuss them simultaneously, sorry for any possible confusion.

If the PMs choose not to make the game a ghost story, then the spec is that the levels of theta waves are enducing people to create situations {like hearing a baby crying in a mine shaft when the most tragic things that happened were her father dying in a mine shaft & and her baby dying, or such as Tara producing hauntings on the website when she is trying to update,instead of actually updating and NOT knowing about it}

If the PMs make this all a ghost story, it's possible that people are not only hearing the spectres, but being possessed {hence, again, Tara isupdating wrongly to make GMH site be all funky}. Now, while i admit, possession and ghosts updating websites can be total velveta... the cheese level doesn't take away from the possibility.

7th sons:
Obviously they were around before Fiona died. Alexander Steward appears to have been one of them. He may have been a founder, we don't know enough about them at all yet to make TOO many assumptions. However, from what we do know, I am left with many specific questions

1} Is there more to find out about Steward?
2} Did he ever remarry?
3} If so, did his new wife then have seven sons?
4} Are the 7th sons able to control the situations with the theta waves, or are they controlled instead BY them?

There are many more questions, and I'm certain to put more together later. As my spec changes, I will edit {by adding only, no deleting/changing previous posts} this post.

I wasn't originally that fond of this storyline, because at first it was reality TV gone wrong and ghosts and sci-fi quality machines. I went "you're having us on. Dude, sci-fi or fantasy, pick one!" and went back to beekeeping.

Then it was reality TV gone wrong, ghosts, sci-fi quality machines, mind control conspiracies and secret societies. It became like a train wreck, I couldn't look away.

Then everything started snowballing, reality TV gone wrong, ghosts, sci-fi machines, mind control conspiracy theories, secret societies, folktales, numerology, internet myths . . . the PMs were giddly adding every single urban myth and ancient folktale in the book and it was glorious.

So yeah, I did initially want them to decide if they wanted to be fantasy or science fiction and just stick with it. I think though now if it all resolves to one simple reason I'd be disappointed. I don't think it needs to, either. Why can't the secret society be carrying out evil experiments on humans, humans who meet a tragic death and who's spirits feel unable to move on? 40hz sound wouldn't explain the mysterious images in the soundfiles and videos, but that doesn't mean that the Seventh Sons aren't using it.
