That string of numbers at the bottom of glimmer.jpg..

1326324854657486

They have a certain breakdown.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
1_2_3_4_5_6_7_8_ is the obvious one.

_3_6_2_8_4_5_4_6 I don't quite get.

Thoughts?

I noticed that, and have been trying to use Nihilist substitution to get something. The 1,2,3,4,5... are the colloms, and the other numbers are rows.

I've got:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
LVITEDAT or MAEGREAS

But neither of them seem to mean anything.

Anagrams!

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
A TT DEVIL and SEAGRAEMS. Alcohol-fueled fire? Smile

Coincidence?

But where is the next piece of the puzzle? You know the format.

Looks like it was a puzzle. Jaimie was kind enough to give me my ASCII art. Well, not art, but it's like a previous puzzle, where you had to move the image to see the text beneath.

Link to the important image....

Sorry if its already posted, I don't see the emails, but could you post the email you sent her and what she exactly replied with please Smile

Well, the only problem with that is that you didn't actually use a Nihilist substitution. That involves a keyword along with a 5x5 grid.

I've been playing around with such a substitution and will post any results I find...

Actually, i think I did use a Nihilist substitution.

I took the string of numbers across the bottom, divided it into many two digit numbers. In each of those two digit numbers, the first was an x coordinate, and the seccond a Y. That got the first string of characters.

The seccond string came from the same concept, but I moved Y spaces down from the top of each collom.

Yeah, I see where you're coming from. Maybe it's possible that I'm misunderstanding Nihilist substitution.

From reading about it here: http://www.fortunecity.com/skyscraper/coding/379/lesson6.htm

it looks like you have to take a keyword phrase and use it to form a 5x5 grid of the letters in the English alphabet. Then the rows/columns are used to decipher into the plaintext. In addition, the particular Nihilist version adds a repeating keyword which is converted into a row/column ciphertext and then added to the normal ciphertext for an extra layer of complexity.

It appears to me that you were just choosing letters from the "grid" on the DH page, which is slightly different. I do admit that it's interesting that the numbers work out just right so that you can pull them from that image, but if the site I am reading is correct, then that is not a Nihilist substitution. Anyways, just sharing my thoughts...

Your right, I guess Its not really Nihilist substitution.

I guess I assumed that they gave us the grid, and the "Nihilist" part was me useing the numbers to find the characters -- Which could be all that they intend for us to do. But, since I didn't find anything, probably not.

[Heh, 42nd post]

http://www.dreadhouse.com/adream.html was updated. The image moved back into the center of the screen, and the title of the page changed to:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Time to play HIDE and SEEK

Imidiatly I tried:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
http://www.dreadhouse.com/hide.html
and
http://www.dreadhouse.com/seek.html

Both of them contained a seeminly corrupt flash file.

I downloaded both of the filles, decompiled them, and I will attach what I found.

This is definitly our hint to this puzzle!

It leads to:

For those of you who dont get how we got that, I'll write up a quick sumary here.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
On http://www.dreadhouse.com/adream.html count the number of letters between each little curl up at the end of a letter.

You will get the folowing string of numbers:

25321144425324432342345141454354

Every set of 2 digits defined a point on an alphabetic grid (See one of the images I attached earlier)

This then gives you:

25- W
32- H
11- A
44- T
42- I
53- P
24- R
43- O
23- M
42- I
34- S
51- E
41- D
45- Y
43- O
54- U

or.... http://www.dreadhouse.com/whatipromisedyou.html

Yaya I solved it too just right now. Smile

I'm always beaten to the post, but that's OK.

Well, on to the next page:

In the source it says
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
<!--a blank -->

Guess who this reminds me of? RON!

We know Ron and Jamie have met. Ron promised us the third webmaster tools file.

Guess where else I saw a similar grid?

That's right, PuzzleCards!
