there is a light and it never goes out

Well, what happened?
I admit I didn't even try this but I'm still very interested in how it ended, if it ended at all.......

Sadly, I don't know what happens next. I never received a reply from the message I sent, and I really don't know enough about the subject to go any further. If anyone has any clues on how to get the author to unlock the next door, I'm all ears.

According to the website, on November 1

deathball.net wrote:
Screen 22 has changed. The solution is the same, but the way to get to it is different and far more easy now.

The bottom right now just has a picture of a phone. What's an unexpected answer to the phone?

Sweet!

Puzzle 22:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

http://deathball.net/notpron/beepbeep/banana.htm

I've found two images: screeeen22b.jpg which is the image displayed, and screeeen22a.jpg, just by changing the letter. I'm investigating now, and I'll post results soon.

Update:
Screeeen22a.jpg is just a question on a flat background. Jpeg really distorts the text, but I think is says:
"Looking for porn again? db, x =pron"
I don't think it's going to help.

Screeeen22b.jpg is the answer. Fairly simply, just playing with color levels in photoshop reveals the answer:
"The answer is unexpected"

Major Spoiler!

"this is NO LONGER the end, go on!!! (this line is not related to the riddle)"

Room 23:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

The hint in the title bar is "huhu, I'm tiny!"

Time to break out the magnifying glass! Zoom in on the text on the greetz, and you'll notice a tiny red dot on some of the letters:

S in Smujte
E in Hello
C in UneXpectable
R in Pen0Crow
E in well
T in least

change unexpected.htm to secret.htm for room 24!

Room 24:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

The only clue I see is in the body of the html:

<!--78874374663-->

The picture is of a phone. I have a feeling it's got to be something either with the letters of the phone, or knowing his tendancy to use musical puzzles, maybe it playes something in DTMF.

74663 can spell phone

no password box, so just use stupidphone.htm

ROOM 25:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

This is a creepy one, very reminscent of UH's the unraveling. It's tricky, but not unsolveable with Photoshop!

First, observe the hint in the title bar: FF0000 - red, in HTML Hex.
Second, observe the text in the password box: 0000FF - blue, in HTML hex.

Now, fire up the image in Photoshop. Again, Image Calcuations is our best friend!

Multiply all the red channels, and you'll see the following text emerge on the top: D L R I E D

Now multiply all the Blue channels, and you'll see the following text:
VSODLE

Unscramble the text, and find ID: Riddle PW: Solved

Room 26:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

This was a very fun one to solve. The hint in the body of the HTML, "How unfair was #8?" didn't seem to apply, at least not the way I solved it. The picture is a zipper, so of course my first instinct was to try zipper.html. Which gives the following hint

yes, its a zipper, try to zip it!

Hmm. Okay, the image is called screen26.jpg, let's try screen26.zip.

Voila, a file downloaded! It's an image with the number 27 in it. Hmm.

Room 27?

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

Well, all I have is an image with the number 27 in the corner, so it *seems* like it would be room 27. The image is obviously altered, with the following signs added to the crowd:

26 needs more titts!
Boobs

And a folded sign with half a Y, OH.

The usual color changes didn't discover anything, nor did zooming in on the other signs -- they're too far away with too much artifacting to read.

Still working on it.

EDIT: I thought it was out of bounds, but a friendly hint lead me to understand: take out the "NOT" from the notpron address!

Room 28:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

http://deathball.net/pron/screen26/

Hmm..the hints are:
"wrong number, ain't it?"
and in the source:
"the top left corner NEVER lies"

In the top left corner, is the title of the page: #28

Well, we want to get to #29, so...

http://deathball.net/pron/screen29/

Voila!

but...we are still wrong in some way....

Room 30:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

"Right in the creator's face"

Important to note here: the creator's name is DavidM. So go searching for other pictures of him on the site...

http://deathball.net/index.php?cat=info&pid=6

There he is!

http://deathball.net/pics/team_davidb.jpg

but...his name is DavidM??

http://deathball.net/pics/team_davidm.jpg

There's the answer! http://deathball.net/notpron/screen30/davidsm.htm

Thanks! As my response to your kind gesture, let me present:

Room 31:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

An odd colored picture. Probably doctored.

The clue:
"He forgot where he took it!"
The picture name:
einundreissig.jpg -- different then usual.
(note: the name translates to "thirty-one" in german. Try zweiundreissig.jpg and see what happens!)

So we fire up the picture in Photoshop. obviously, the clue indicates that we should try and find where the picture was taken. But there's not enough visual data to get any real ideas.

Maybe there's something in the file's meta-data? Those optional fields that Adobe uses to put info in the hidden header section of the .JPG?

File->File Info. Change the category to "Origin".

city: eisenhuettenstadt

Room 32:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

Ooooh, nice sky shot! There seems to be some faint detail in the distance.

Clues:
Title: "Where do you want to go today?"

HTML comment: "He took the Via Appia"

So, obviously they're looking for a place. Google "Via Appia" and you'll find it was an acient road that lead across Europe to Rome. Lets try that:

http://deathball.net/notpron/screen30/rome.htm

hmm...so we're close. Let's take a closer look at that picture. Playing with the contrast a bit reveals a rather religious looking scene. Hmm...religious...place...rome...hmm...
