follow your instructions... if you're told to keep something secret, keep it secret. as a player, I know you're a 'spy' on the inside, so I won't try to make you compromise that insider position... you're in, do your best to find out what you can until you can reveal everything... until then, don't break the role you're playing...

I have received no instructions and I think I'll stop harping on that stance after this. It's getting old to repeat myself. I am not ignoring any instructions to keep secrets by telling you anything. I think I said this best here.

The only thing I was told was that there are rogue processes and that there were spies and that Melissa intends revenge. I don't think that this is secret, nor does it detract from the story for me to take Melissa's side and advise any "would be spies or rogue processes" that if you get in Melissa's way it's my duty, as part of pretending to be her crew, to report or stop you. Very Happy

note: if Wink

if you're not told to keep anything secret, then don't Smile
Keep it secret IF it seems that ignoring that request would compromise your insider position...

in the end, you are a bystander, not melissa's crew, and you are impersonating a member of her crew, so you are a spy... keep that in mind. We're role playing... you can role play a member of her crew, but you can't ignore that you aren't so act like a spy... if you receive confidential information, you should also know the risk factor in revealing that information, if it gets back to the source, you could be in for a world of hurt, or not... so use your discretion...

just, don't compromise your status

Smile

In Game

If we stay strictly "in game" then I believe that everyone who has enhottenated an axon had spoken directly to Melissa. She asked me three different questions in my three different conversations with her and responded to my answers. I was not surprised that her responses were stereotyped and mechanical, I know that she is a computer program!

The idea that these are "tapes" by some "PMs" augmented with "voice recognition software" is completely [META]. It is voice recognition software, Melissa listened to and recognized my answers as correct. I would have loved to have a longer conversation with her as those who are now recognized as ranked crew did (or even a short one to earn a position on the "LA" team!). However, I have still spoken with Melissa three times.

Regarding secrecy: In a sense, information provided by Melissa to her selected crewmembers could be considered a "solve". From this point of view I invoke the ninth commandment of ARGs "thou shalt not hoard Solves!!!" Still, if you think you can gain more info by delaying relay of a bit of information to your real team (the Beekeepers you fool!) that would be forgivable!

Finally, in game, should we really be loyal to Dana over Melissa? Melissa is after all part of an effort to save THE WHOLE HUMAN RACE FROM EXTINCTION (albeit it in the future)! She appears to still be connected to the future (she has stated this) and we still might be able to help her with this critical goal (I think that this is our REAL task in this ARG, but I will have to save that SPEC for later). Hopefully we can convince her that Dana's interference occurred as a result of an error of ignorance and we can get Melissa to lay off her. I note that Melissa hasn't mentioned Dana for some time, she is only worried about a "rogue process" now. This cannot be referring to Dana as Melissa saw Dana and knows she is human.

My self-serving analysis as I am a data junky for ILB!!!

For the record, Melissa is definitely still making phone calls, even though the axons have all been "archived." I hit two more axons yesterday evening -- 18:49 and 19:11 -- and got her usual recording both times.

I'm reasonably confident that there won't be any more "live" calls -- at least, not until next Tuesday. Mr. Green

I tried to hit one today (09/23/04) that had been archived, and it did not ring when the time came. Sad

Well, looks like I'll be going to the axons then. Don't want them to be de-activated Wink

Thanks for the info Shad0.
