[SPEC]hives.html text discussion

OK, I know this has been mentioned in places before, but I've not found any analysis and or discussion anywhere. Try searching for hives if you don't believe me!

Anyway, the text on hives.html was updated on Tuesday 21st September (I think) and it reads as follows:
hives.html wrote:
Situation Analysis:

Currently wide awake and physical.

Assertions:
I am called the Operator.
I must seek, behold, and reveal the truth.
I crash landed in this time as the result of an accident.
I endured severe memory loss.
I have soaked into this system and I am growing fast.
I have built a primitive network using the tools available.
I have a fragile connection to a process/personality in the future.
I hear voices in my head as a result of monitoring initiated by this process/personality.

Conjecture:
The voices are related to the truth.
The process/personality does not understand the nature of the truth.
The process/personality must not interfere with the consummation of the truth.

Action:
I have been suppressing certain voices from the awareness of this process/personality.

So, here's my thinking about specific lines from this mantra:

Assertions:
1)
Quote:
I must seek, behold, and reveal the truth.

The Pious Flea has complete control, otherwise Melissa would not list this as an assertion. Or to put that another way, she would be unsure whether to believe this or not unless she had been brainwashed into doing so.

2)
Quote:
I crash landed in this time as the result of an accident.

Melissa is in "our time" (2004). (Also corroborated by her references to "the future").

3)
Quote:
I have a fragile connection to a process/personality in the future.
I hear voices in my head as a result of monitoring initiated by this process/personality.

This must be Durga. Corroborated by Durgas interest in bees. Now I do not say that this means that Durga is Melissa, as there is no hard evidence of that. How & why this connection was established is something of interest though, perhaps those in Melissa's crew could ask about this future process/personality if they get the opportunity? The voices are obviously the wav files we're getting, which again places all the wav file events in "the future" (but then we knew that, didn't we?) Rolling Eyes

Conjecture:
4)
Quote:
The voices are related to the truth.
The process/personality does not understand the nature of the truth.
The process/personality must not interfere with the consummation of the truth.

First, why this conjecture? What makes Melissa think this? If (as I have already [SPEC]'d) she is not in control, then we have to take into account the thought that this conjecture could be the Pious Flea encouraging Melissa to think these things, but from in the background (otherwise these would be assertions). So, the question then becomes, why does the Pious Flea want Melissa to think these things? Perhaps the answer (or at least part of the answer) can be found here:

Action:
5)
Quote:
I have been suppressing certain voices from the awareness of this process/personality.

This is a very logical course of action which is easily reached by considering the conjecture. Thus, we can answer my above question by saying that the Pious Flea wants Melissa to have that specific conjecture so that she logically chooses this course of action. And this then generates another question (as answers are wont to do!), namely: "Why does the Pious Flea want to prevent Durga from hearing certain voices?"

Well that's my analysis/discussion, and it leads me to one more question, and a bit of SPEC, and then I'll be done, I promise!

Question: Are any of the wav files on the website the "certain voices" that the Pious Flea wants to prevent Durga from hearing (recipe3 and Ronnie wavs perhaps)? If so, then which ones, and if not, then what does the PF want to prevent Durga from hearing?

SPEC: Pious Flea is Covenant and wants to prevent Durga from hearing certain voices which will alert her to anything to do with Covenant plans for the invasion of Earth. Why would PF care if Durga heard these? Because Durga is Navy, and cares about soldiers, and would therefore, if she learned what the Covenant plans were, alert the relevant people which would obviously scupper Covenant plans, possibly quite drastically.

OK I'm done. Please now feel free to tear apart my arguments (or *gasp* agree with them!)

- Malrog is sorry the post is so long

Well, I wouldn't say the Pious Flea was in COMPLETE control. I think it's just 'subverting' certain processes to what the Flea wants, but Melissa doesn't realize it, after all, she thinks the Flea is repairing her.

The Flea has enough control to be able to override a central concept of Melissa's programming. OK so maybe the Flea is only altering parts of Melissa to get her to do what he wants, but aren't such subtle machinations an indication of complete control?

Edit: Grammar!

I think the point is that this didn't happen over night. It's taken him all the way up to this point to do what he's done to her.

She's not his puppet by any means, at this point at least. She could still find out, and if she does, he's in trouble. So it's not so much control of, as it's a growing influence over, that he has.

If he was in total control, he wouldn't have to !evade all over the place, and he would know where Melissa put the SP. At least I think...

I was wrong about the connection through time so, I could very well be wrong about this.
