He's been posting that on almost all the pages.

There is some flea talk here: http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6706

True..but never on the 404 error page before...You would think the flea would know where the SP is locked up at, that is if he's on the Queens side. I wonder if this could be remnants of when the SP was captured?

I know I might be reading too much into it but nothing else is going on.

It's a [SPEC]-spectacular. Okay, watch the monkey attempt some reasoning:

Posit: GOOD is keeping the location of Earth a secret and trying to suppress the activities of the Covenant. BAD is telling the alien scum where to find Earth and assisting their attack.

Posit: Queen Melissa is GOOD, Flea is BAD.
Melissa is showing signs of having been compromised by Flea, which means that we must also assume that she is now BAD. We can further assume that if she was a human AI in service on a naval vessel, removing the influence of the Flea would be good for Earth.

Posit: Queen Melissa is GOOD, Flea is GOOD.
The Pious Flea's not a great orator, so it's hard to determine his motivations. However, he's helping Melissa hunt Princess, and he may have been complicit in the destruction of SPDR, an otherwise valuable resource. Further, there is antagonism between Melissa and Princess. In all, it seems unlikely that Flea is good for Earth.

Posit: PRINCESS is GOOD.
There are some signs in support of a GOOD Princess. She was communicating with us, and provided us with a lot of data about the status of her environment. In general, transparency is good. She gave us access to data that Melissa withheld. She's probably linked in some way to Durga, who is both likeable and good for Earth (or one particular Earthling, anyway).

Posit: PRINCESS is BAD.
She was a prisoner when we met her. She's been evading Queen Melissa. She threatened Dana. If we assign her the role of the Forerunner artifact (or some software entity that came from it), there's still no reason to assume that the Forerunners would a) automatically dislike the Covies or b) care particularly whether they found Earth. This doesn't make her a good-for-Earth entity. On the other hand, if we assign her the role of a Covenant AI, she's definitely bad for Earth.

Conclusions:
1. MELISSA is fundamentally GOOD, but probably compromised, and therefor UNKNOWN.
2. FLEA is probably BAD.
3. PRINCESS is UNKNOWN, since we have too little conclusive data about her motivations.

Given the situation, the only unambiguous goal is the try to suppress the influence of the FLEA wherever possible. Beyond that, we should try to gather more data in support of firming up the other conclusions.

Please, feel free to add ideas in support of one conclusion or another. My Halo-mythos and ILB-mythos knowledge has lots of holes. Also, what actions can the officers and crew actually take to help suppress the FLEA? Shocked
R.

Edit: Here are a couple of good suggestions on attacking the Flea...http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=76228#76228

killer.jpg's still via direct link

You can still access killer.jpg via direct link and there still are multiple images just like the last set from the SP, nothing new.

When did the sleeping princess threaten Dana? I'm not sure about this, but are you thinking of the widow/SPDR who labelled Dana as "the killer" when she was messing around trying to fix the ILB site? Anyway, if SP did threaten Dana then it has a strange juxtaposition with one of her old e-mails ("Dana a friend/good guy" "you and I together allies"). Confused

Yeah, you're right. I spaced for a sec there because I recalled seeing all the killer.jpgs on the 404 page. Oops!

Still, even with that point gone, there's still nothing much making her particularly GOOD.

Actually, I believe it was Melissa/Queen that threatened Dana, early on as she was just awakening.

Check out thebruce's archive, search for "Young and out of uniform" for the passage.

Shocked ...borders on not funny... considering recent september tradgedies in the US.

weephun is my hero. what greater thing can a man do than this, that he move forward the ARG plot for his friends?

i wish i had performed as well. you made contact and you affected the game to the highest degree since xnbomb convinced Dana to return.
Thanks ... the praise seems to be few and far between, while the condemnation continues.

Since I seem to be so good at removing AIs from the system ... I'll get working on the Pious Flea next.

[SPEC] Indeed, I all but think that this is the next goal.

Of course, there is the email that many people have received. So, it's entirely possible, that instead, the next goal could be to free the SP again. [/SPEC]

The full text is at hives.html, but here's my SPEC for whatever it's worth:

[SPEC] The tenuous connection with the process/personality in the future is DURGA and Melissa has been suppressing certain voices (us?) from the awareness of that (future) personality/process. [/SPEC]

I'm determined to help the SP alot. She's been good to me. I've received all of her emails (except her initial email contact), including this recent one from yesterday. I've replied with tons of emails, and she responded to one of them (the one about Team SF/BA); in return she posted my handle on her last '404 Error' message.

She's been good to us. If not for her, we wouldn't have known of the ONI officials and Ronnie.

And she can't be a Forerunner AI: she's too American, and knows too many fairy tales. C'mon, would a Forerunner AI (like 343 Guilty Spark) be able to tell fairy tales?

And here's a theory I'll try to help save the Sleeping Princess:

She quotes in her plea: "...Keep looking for me! Tell them, they can talk to me whenever she falls apart! Tell them to call my name! Tell them it's the only..." If, after all the members of Team SF/BA become registered crewmembers of Melissa, and she still does another go-around for the roster, I'll spend a live-call on this attempt. If she doesn't recognized my voice on the payphone, I'll ask for the Sleeping Princess. Else, I wait until after Melissa "falls apart", and find some means to call out the Sleeping Princess.

I'm determined to help as much to either entity (SP, Melissa, etc.) to further the story along. Basically, I guess being 'Chaotic Neutral' would suit me ^_^

Is there a possibility that she's letting us know -- as indirectly as possible (back in stealth mode, no new text) -- that she's all right despite the Queen's efforts to lock her away again?

...Or is this just wishful thinking?

I got more of a "Clap your hands if you believe in fairies!" impression from that line. I assumed it was a hint that we'll have a chance to talk to her again if the Queen breaks down.

I'm leaning toward the Princess's escape being a good thing, even if she is not necessarily good. She at least reveals new information to us, and she seems to enjoy company as a game, rather than as manipulation. If it becomes obvious she's playing us against Melissa, she can always be locked up again. Meanwhile, although Melissa was probably good initially, we've seen the way her priorities have changed over the first few rounds of the game from SERE to Seek, Reveal, Behold. In addition, why is a ship's AI giving orders to the crew? Shouldn't it be the other way around? Even if she doesn't intend it, the Flea's influence seems to suggest that she's no longer preserving Earth's secrecy. Of course, she's still a valuable source of information, so best of luck to the crewmembers who are close to her.

What if the Flea is not the bad guy that we have made him out to be.

I would attribute his lack of action against the Princess to his goal of attaaching to as many AI's as possible. He's dumb but not necessarily without his own agenda.

Well.. I thought Melissa had her locked away from the PF... and now the PF is looking for her.

But... if (and this is from what I've seen) Melissa doesn't know about the PF - who is she hiding SP from...?

And where is the queen in all this!?!

Queen hides the Princess, but from what? Interesting. Maybe there's another character that we havn't been introduced to yet. Or... The assassin? Perhaps the Princess was an AI that was partially programmed, or the like, and when Dana tried to fix the site, and hurt Mel, then the Glass Coffin was opened. Already tried looking for a glasscoffin, or a glass_coffin .html or .wav on the site, and havn't found that. Would'a been funny if there was one, though. But, anyways, perhaps she's hiding Princess from Dana? She thinks that after the first 'attack' Dana's maybe regrouping, and figuring out a way to rid the system of Mel? But, we havn't had anything pointing in this direction yet. Or any direction for that matter. Maybe it'll be updated on tuesday with some sort of an explaination.
