 		Well, due to the thunderstorms and their effect on traffic... I'm not going to make it down there.

FYI, the address I got was "Let's Talk Cellular & Wireless, Inc.", but the payphone directory site mentioned that the phone is between 1421 and 1439, which would account for the MARTA parking slot.

 		The one in Macon is at a Cracker Barrel, corner of Brookhaven and Eisenhower Parkway. (5000 Eisenhower Parkway). There's only one payphone, located near the restrooms. It's the same phone as for round 1. I'm not going to go -- one trip playing hooky from work was enough for me. But I think ROBOGriff is going to make another attempt today (he was 2 minutes late yesterday)

The payphone in Midtown Atlanta is the same one as round one. It's right on the street; sapagoo can give more details on that one.

 		FYI the Midtown Axon is hot now. Thanks to (at least) Vortech for being on-site.

Bad part? None of the other axons in group 1 were answered! Showing only 1 out of 3. Tough break!

Also, FYI, Plains is now out as well... Blue then Red was released this morning. Not necessarily a bad thing, because it is a bit out of the way for most GA folks I've seen on here. Hopefully the "Operator" will remember the locations and not send another there.

If at any time we have another Axon appear at the Sugar Hill (Mall of Georgia) location, I will be more than happy to cover it. No time problems with the +3 hr time difference, the mall will always be open in those 12 hours. If for some reason I can't, I will let you know.

That would be me, and two other Halo fans (I believe). I tried to use one of those telephone pickups from Radio Shack to record it, but all I got was silence. Back to the drawing board.

Two of the newly previewed locations are in Macon and Plains. I just looked up the Plains, GA location again:

There's something fishy (not like trout) about that location: it's at the dead center of the main zip code. Here's a map of the coordinates:

Looks similar doesn't it? Look at the coordinates returned by Geocode: 32.024780 -084.379406

I think there's nothing there; it's just a bogus location. So? How likely is it that there's a payphone there?

 		Hmmm...
Well, I can cover MoGA starting with the 1419 call. It repeats 4 times in the same location, but there are two separate banks of phones, upstairs and down.... I'll take the downstairs since that's where it rang last time. Don't know if anyone else will show to help out or listen in, but I will do my best to be there and waiting. These new ones look interesting O_o

Also... here's something interesting I noticed, could be nothing:

Axon Phase 2 had one located outside the White House.
Axon Phase 3 had one near a book signing by Clinton.

Plains, GA is Jimmy Carter's hometown. This is a well-known fact among native Georgians. So, I'm wondering if there were calls in Texas near Bush (the former), or in California at the Reagan Library or somewhere significant like that. Just a thought.

 		Looks like there is an axon in Dunwoody, at Perimeter Mall. Unsure of specific location of phone, but GPS puts it in the center of the mall complex. That axon is scheduled for 1449 PDT, 1749 local.

I'll head to the MoGA axon Tuesday and see what happens. Urthstripe, maybe you could cover the Perimeter location, since your previous post put you near the Perimeter area??

It seems vortech had Midtown covered, and gkrohne had the Macon/Plains axons taken care of. If I take care of northern parts, we'll have 4/5 of the axons covered at any given moment. Just a thought, feel free to flame or support me Smile

OK, well I can not get any of the MoGA set at that time until Friday, hopefully Babyface Genie can pick up all of those before then.

As for the Perimeter mall location map (33.922767, -84.342483) I will be there at 5:49PM. Given that it is yet another mall, and this time with even less locational distinctiveness: the more the merrier.

EDIT: the location seems to resolve to the parking garage. . . looks like I'm buying a cheap GPS unit. . . Actually I'm surprised that we don;t have Halo 2 GPS units for sale from Microsoft.

The midtown location I can't pick up tomorrow morning (she moved it to later in the day) but I can get it friday.

The other Perimeter Location has not been lit up yet. Again, I can't get there and back in time, so I have to wait until Friday when I have all day free.

If you know someone who goes to Univ. West Georgia, maybe they can get the Carrolton location.

 		Macon Cracker Barrel is CLOSED
Anthony and I went up to the Cracker Barrel in Macon to answer the phone. Cracker Barrel wouldn't let us in. Cursing They said that they were closed, and none of the phones were working anyway, including the payphone (I asked twice about the payphone Confused ). They said they didn't have power either, but all of the lights were on, and the parking lot was full of utility trucks. Screwy It wouldn't hurt to call the Cracker Barrel (478-477-4848) first, should any of you decide to try another day. For that matter, you should probably try to call the payphone [478-477-9747], too.
