[Question] Effendi = F-N-D? Significance?

Efendi...does anyone know if the initials F.N.D. have any significance?....if you sound out Effendi, you get F-N-D...

EDIT - added topic listing, moved to question forum - SG

I think it was SPEC'd that the PM's choice of the name Efendi is because it is synonymous with "Master" or "Chief". (Just like the "twing" in Dana's email is Ringworld creator Larry Niven's space-age version of a bungee cord.)

All of which is [seeker: !visualize struck-out trout], although if there's anything to FND I'd be intrigued.

[Totally OT] Fans of Carl Sagan's Contact will be intrigued to sound out the letters L-E-R-O-Y. (A better fit might be LEROA.) I always wondered about that. [/OT]

edit - yes, this is a trout free zone. AD

Here is the link to the thread where "FND" was mentioned previously in regards to "Efendi":

Stunningly appropriate coincidence

When I looked up "efendi," I had, for some reason, remembered it being spelled with two Fs. If one uses Wikipedia, and searches for "effendi," one gets a fascinating result for "Article Title Matches." (Scroll down to see #4.) For those with too much free time:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Search?search=effendi

I realize it's just a coincidence, but still.

Indeed it is, but since you can't strike out an emoticon I will have to be creative.
