Suffering is in the world
Desire is the root of suffering
Suffering/desire can be ended
The route to end suffering is the 8 fold way

Not that I think this is important at all. I'm betting the numbers are the puzzle.

 		7 deadly sins
I always thought the 7 deadly sins were related to Christianity.
Pride, Greed, Lust, Sloth, Gluttony, Wrath, Envy

<wow all off the top of my head too Smile >

I've been thinking on it, but I believe that it's either Pride or Greed that is the root of all evil - basically a majority (if not all) of the deadly sins can be related back to a single one - which is either Pride or Greed.

but I'm thinking it's a 777 puzzle. (not the best encryption... but I've seen worse)

Well, the report of the puzzle said "Faithful Apostles". My (very small) knowledge of this is that there were 12 Apostles to begin with, but as Judas wasn't all that faithful, he wouldn't be counted. (Although on IRC someone did say there was another Apostle who replaced Judas afterwards, so technically I guess it could be 12 - but I still like 11.)

dotreptile/rogue element -- going with that line of thinking - desire (which could easily fall under some of the deadly sins) could also lead us to the deadly sin(s) path.


Running with Wynn's statements some more:
If we take Deadly sin, the next branch (assuming there are three branches) may list items which are one of a group of 7 - like the Hanging Gardens or other wonders of the world - ... but then again - until we get to the next path it's all just [SPEC]

...but i'm guessing they put the "faithful" adjective there for a reason. (so we'd know if it's really 12 or 11.) just a little insight here, but if they really did purposefully put the 'faithful' adjective there so we'd know they're referring to 11 and not 12, then i guess the solution isn't just about always picking 7, since the number 11 would actually play some sort of significance.

TWELVE!!! Sorry, but Judas was one of them until the very end. Someone said eleven and it's irritating the Hell (no pun intended) out of "perfectionist" me. Embarassed

It says "faithful apostles". Judas wasn't faithful, which is why we're counting only 11.

What significance would 11 play? Not trying to be a jerk - just curious. And isn't it a matter of opinion whether Judas was faithful or not? If anyone knows the story Judas was faithful, he was just tempted and ultimately bought (no pun intended again) into that temptation.

im just saying that, since a couple of people are suggesting that there would be a lot of 'forks' in the roads marked by balloons with words, and that the right path is to take all those that relate to seven: then if we were to pick "deadly sins" just merely because it relates to 7, that would mean that it wouldnt really matter if the number of disciples is 11 or 12, since it would be insignificant to the solution. hope that makes sense Smile
