[SPEC] Flea smarter than we think?

I did a search but couldn't find anyone suggesting this. With what we know about the PF and his control over Melissa, do any of you think it is possible that the PF had SP locked up himself to further gain her and our trust? By helping Melissa capture her then releasing her "cry for help" email that basically spelled out what we needed to do to free her, he had many of us questioning our original beliefs as to whether or not he was against us. By doing this he also gained SP's trust to the point where she is asking him for help in hiding from Melissa. Perhaps it was PF's influence that caused Melissa to ues the blatant religious encoding to lock up the SP. Anyway this is just my [spec], feel free to tell me how you feel about it. Smile

The Flea is immensely intelligent. He learnt SPDR speak, and has learned a little bit about the Princess's choice of vocabulary ('creepy'). He learnt quite quickly that the Princess wasn't going to be easy to influence, so he's taking a different approach.

I'd debate that. The Flea is very good at what it is programmed to do - interface with and undermine other processes. As such it's talented at adapting its methods of communication to those of other processes. However, it's knowledge is very limited in other areas. It still hasn't figured out that !attach isn't going to win over the Sleeping Princess, so it just tries again and again and again. It has a very deep knowledge, but not a very broad one.

That said I think SP is playing with the Flea, but she might be underestimating it.

For some reason, I couldn't help but think of the Covenant's "Immitation not innovation" dealio when I read this.

Yeah, plus, it seems to be getting smarter - look at the latest conversations on contact me. It now knows 'friends', as well as creepy! =P And, yeah, the Princess is probably underestimating the Flea, but she's not underestimating it so much that it's gonna get a hold on her. She's still very aware of what's happening when she talks to the Flea, so I think that she's just leading him on into doing what she wants him to do.

On the contrary, he's not been doing it so often recentlly. He did it only once on contactme.html, and when he did it the SP didn't expect it.

I agree.
