[META] Suggestions for some things to try on a live call...

Hmm. Personally, if I was going to pick a song to go with an ONI role playing, I think I would pick something like Die Another Day or maybe one of the other bond themes. Just another suggestion for anyonw that tries it. Wink Some of the stuff in that song may even spark Melissa's interest, since it involves surviving someone trying to break them and getting revenge later.

That would imho be a bit like suggesting 'Kung Fu Fighting' if the theme had been martial arts, instead of spying....

Don't forget who drove Melissa to construct the axons in the first place.

The Flea.

In the early phases, the SPDR seemed to be dictating the interactions Melissa and the Princess has with the outside world.

Then the Flea outmanuvered the SPDR. The SPDR was killed, and the Flea took it's place.

Thought, it seems Melissa essentiallly took on all of the SPDR's former functions.

If that is so, then why is she keeping an SPDR around? I mean, if she's taken over its functions, why does she need it any more?

- I had thought it would be interesting to see how she would react if somebody told her something close to the actual truth. That they were not on her crew, not from her time, and just wanted to help her repair herself and get back to where she belonged... And hopefully do this in a way that she wouldn't hurt Dana.

But I'm not sure that would really go anywhere... Still, it would be interesting to see her reaction.

- Ask her for more information about "The Killer". As Krysten has been saying, is there something about Dana that Melissa knows that we don't?

- My other idea, would be to (gently and subtlely) scold her for letting her whole obsession with Dana get in the way of completing her mission.

- Really play the part of of a Crew member.

This is what I'm planning to do. I mean, more then just giving your name and rank... But, if you were one of these people, and you got send back in time how would you react to that? What would you say to something like Melissa if you really were a member of her crew?

My goal is to make her cry... What I'm going to do once that happens... I'm still trying to figure out.

on the off chance I get a live call, I plan on letting Me know that I'm under order to NOT reveal the location of the civilian. AIs aren't technically in the command structure, and technically the crew doesn't HAVE to follow her orders. I plan on being as nice as possible in letter her down, but hold firm I shall.

Im glad I'm not a crew member and too far from an axon. I have no clue how to find a missing person in a foriegn land. I presume M already has dana's gmail and blog account info if she can access D's credit cards.
thinking.........try telling M that she needs to establish a dialogue with d at a secure --what? chat room? because Dana is the only one who can betray herself by making a mistake.

I'm really agreeing with MeKiwi and HitsHerMark. Really play the "crew" card (if you are crew already). My whole plan is to get Melissa into a state where she would divulge some more info to us.

1. Tell her that the captain is not only dead, but was murdered. Maybe even say you ware worried about catching a certain "flu" (the McKaskill mentions in the wav). Basically tell her that her crew is in danger. Even though she's gone nuts, she still seems adamant about protecting her crew.

2. Tell her to protect us! We are pretending to be her crew so she better protect us. In the state that she is in right now (psycho-crazy) I think that telling her we are not her crew would generally be a bad thing.

Basically position all this info in such a way as to get some more info out of her. Just some ideas off the top of my head. Run with it! Wink

I suppose it's possible that she'll decide to protect us by attempting to kill Dana. . . But then... We could always try to point her twords Standish... Very Happy

I was thinking we could pose as either a AI computer specialist (say that we can repair damaged AI's. Or give our rank as Captain, then say you were on a different Haloverse ship. Also you could list your rank as Ship's doctor. That might be interesting as well.

Point being, doing something different produces interesting results.
