Melissa regained control of conactus.html (a 404 page). Unless you mean contactme.html, which seems to be the current abode of one Sleeping Princess. Dunce

Oddly enough I had a similar thought on the way home. However, I was also thinking that ILB will most likely conclude with earth being attacked (makes sense, but 110% spec). Now then, if we take reach to be glassed on the 8-30 (from Fall of Reach) and remember that Rani's wedding (released on week 5) was the file from which we can gather when reach was glassed in the ILB story line, I think we can conclude when earth is attacked. ILB ends 7 Smile weeks after the wedding, so if ILB ends in the glassing of earth then earth falls seven weeks after Reach. Which puts Armageddon roughly at October 18th, 2552. Purely spec, but if I'm right it's pretty cool to know in advance, no? Of course this is assuming that the reach falls on a tuesday and that earth will fall on a tuesday, so the date might be off by a few, but really that's the least wild of all my assumptions.

Well, where's my fish?

There's one more huge and unwarranted assumption you're making. You're assuming Earth finds out about the glassing of Reach pretty soon after it happens. I think it's been pretty well established from the novels that the glassing of Reach was covered up, hidden from general human society, for X amount of time, where X is almost certainly long enough to throw off your SPEC.

Welcome to the forums, btw!

Nova: Sharingan!

I dunno, personally I really like the whole phone-chasing business. It's like a throwback to the radio shows where you had your Ovaltine secret decoder ring and you had to check back next week to get the next installment of the story, except the twist is that we are helping the story to slowly unfold by lighting up the axons. The voice acting is great, the storylines are intriguing, so I don't mind 6 more weeks (if that's what it ends up being).

I mean, how much of a bummer would it be if the game ended next week and we got a thank you and a Halo 2 coupon from ladybee777?

I agree that the axons are pretty cool, but how much longer can we do this before it gets old. I like it and all, but I have to devote about an hour or two a piece to each axon (with bus rides and everything). Don't get me wrong, I am really digging the story, but getting the phones has become a pain. I just hope I get a live call next week.

I'd like to point out that this is completely debatable, given that the novels don't cover anything that happens in general human society after the attack on Reach. We just see the remaining Spartans go off to a new battle, and that's it. True, the Navy doesn't like to demoralize troops by making timely announcements of every Covenant victory, but there is absolutely no evidence in First Strike that this happened with respect to Reach.

I don't think that assumption is so big. First off I don't remember reading anything about cover up in the books (granted I've only read them once). Also we see an example of slip stream communication in this weeks messages, so if people are sending messages from Reach and all of the sudden they stop comming it would be suspicious. You also have to figure that with millions (maybe billions) of people on a planet there has to be at least one sending a message to another planet at any given time. "Hi mom, just home sick and... what's that in the sky? Holy Sh---" So I would think it'd be pretty hard to keep a secret.
