Question about the seeker code on contactme.html

The seeker wrote:

Princess > !evade master-sector

Has anyone been able to figure out what happened here? The proc obviously means process, because that's been a constant. But what is the sec? Is it section, sector, or secondary? It looks to me that the seeker is making a connection from Melissa to the Princess. Maybe that is how she is supposed to remain safe, she can hear the Queen coming. But why doesn't the last line have two arrows (>>)? This one's just got me for some reason. Any help would be appreciated.

Well, we know from the original SPDR code from way back in Phase 1 that "sec proc" means "security process." There were four of them, including the one that the Sleeping Princess dubbed the Manticore:

SPDR wrote:
grope:
!probe primary sector
sec proc 1
!probe primary sector
sec proc 2
!probe primary sector
sec proc 3
!probe primary sector
sec proc 4
!probe primary sector
fail

surg:
!triage sec proc 1
fail
!triage sec proc 2
fail
!triage sec proc 3
fail
!triage sec proc 4
dmg unk

As for the arrows, it's far from settled, but my opinion is that > indicates what the subject (that is, seeker or Princess) is doing, while >> indicates the result returned. For example, on lookingglass.html, we saw the following:

Seeker and the Sleeping Princess wrote:
reveal:
Princess > seek

I don't know. Home, I guess.

Princess
seek >> home

So I think that Seeker is offering to attach to Melissa, and either (1) attach a security process to the Princess or (2) attach the Princess as a security process -- I'm not sure which -- so that she will be able to evade Melissa. The last line is showing what the Princess will be able to do, not what the result will be. Perhaps the next lines would be something like:

behold:
master-sector > !seek Princesss >> fail

I always figured the arrows as an if (>), then (>>) statement. So I figured the last line would have two, kind of saying if I attach to Melissa and make you a security process (or whatever), then you will evade her. But the security process things is a big help. So thanks for that.

Huh, I always thought that 'sec proc' meant 'secondary procedure' not 'security procedure'. Not that it's a big deal, but if we're talking 'master' then I thought that anything not 'master' would be 'secondary.'

I think its saying if I attach to the Queen, then you attach to me, you will be able to evade the queen. a=b b=c therfore a=c.

Yes, that's right. Might not work in practice, but the theory is fine.
