Melissa is aware of the relationship between Jersey & Durga -- an AI and the startled human on whose computer the AI appeared. Perhaps an analogy would be a succinct way to get the point across quickly, since it's likely that Melissa will have very little patience for argument on "the Assassin's" behalf. The crew could tell Melissa this:

"All the crew members have been examining Dana, and we are certain that she is simply a startled human who did not understand what was going on -- just like Jersey Morelli was confused when Durga appeared on his system. Please remember that Jersey was about to re-initialize his system, just as Dana tried to do. The only difference was that Durga was wide awake and physical at the time, so she could stop him before he tried. But Dana would like to be your friend, just as Jersey and Durga became friends."

If every crew member were to tell her this same thing, there's no way she could write it all off to disloyalty.

Has anyone tried giving Dana a new email address, (I can offer up a Gmail account for the purpose), and letting her know by naming it something that only she'd know and Melissa couldn't work out? (Same with the PW?)

If Melissa can read Dana's email, then perhaps we should try and throw her off by sending more "convincing" stuff to Dana's current email and actually communicating with her on the quiet.

(Wonder how the PMs would take that?)

The only reason Melissa would never truly listen to us (beyond being so far gone into craziness by being broken/controlled by PF) is that she knows something about Dana -we- don't know yet, something we might not like very much at all.

After all, we really don't know much about Dana, do we? And if Melissa's anything like Durga, she might have some eeeeeenteresting dirt on her.

WILDASS SPEC: Dana is actually the great, great, great (^n) grandmother of Thin Kinkle. Eliminating her would eliminate him.

Oh geez, that would totally suck! Um um um, let's encourage Dana to adopt children, instead of having them! Reduce population bloat! Yeah!

Now the exact wording would probably end up a little different. But it seems that Melissa calls us her "trusted" crew when we form groups (Team Boise, Team Goddess(?thats right isnt it?))
I think one thing we need to do before everyone try's to convince her of anything that might set her off, is to get some sort of larger organization than just a few people within a city.

Currently I am part of:
[Team Idaho]
---Ensign Cheebers
---[Team Boise] (within team Idaho)
------Lt. weephun
------Lt. Furious Jack
------Jr. Lt. Mad Cow

if anyone else is interested in "joining" team idaho or team america? send me an email and we'll get more people to start coordinating with us.

[btw, weephun is the mastermind behind this operation]
he was calling me on my cell while I visited every payphone to give me the current pass code. (which ended up activating the hey_toots axon) and we went through 4 payphones before the first live call

Wow, I think that's the first time I've ever been referred to as "the mastermind" ... I think I like it Cool Mastermind weephun ..... yah, I could get used to that.

No, but seriously, she seemed very interested in "groups" and us forming them. I'd love to add to the ranks of "Team Idaho", including those outside of Idaho. Hey, we started as Team Boise, then Team Idaho, next Team Western United States maybe? tomorrow the world!!!! ... oh, sorry got a little carried away there Embarassed

Mad Cow will be "the mastermind" for the upcoming Tues for "Team Idaho" as Lt. weephun will be out of town (don't worry I'll have my cube-mate answer my phone for me), so if you want to join in, please do let him know.

Because at that point it's actually more like mutiny.

Or perhaps mass mutiny?

I'm not saying that the proposed ideas are bad, in fact, my curious nature is interested in how the above scenario would play out, but I thought it might be worth mentioning that from the skewed perspective of paranoia, most every contrary action looks like a usurping conspiracy...

I just sent a message to danatwingSPLATgmail.com, expressing surprise that Dana was back in the States. Specifically, Boston.

Anyone want to supply Melissa with corroborating data points? Very Happy

Actually, per Melissa, we're the "Goddess Squad." All two of us. I was too busy being dumbfounded to come up with a clever idea, but I must admit I do find the appellation flattering, even though she probably only picked it because of Kali's name.

And again, anyone in the area is welcome and encouraged to join us. One day, there may even be food. Okay, actually there's always food when Kali and I get together.

I'm up for joining Team America. Where do I sign? Razz
