Checked out Norbac. Noted the login in the corner of the screen, that all of the Key Personel Members had email addresses on staff pages, and the contact page had a mailing address and an email address. On the Science Sucks page, they have apparently been hacked. You can vote on a poll and sign up on the forums. I looked at the memberlist, and the hack apparently occured on September 28th. All members look in-game unless they are registered in October. Thats us. Czechm8 might also be out of game, but his profile page suggests otherwise. None of the in-game members have contact infomation, but you can PM them. Their Profile pages have lots of info on them as well. Hang on a sec, ScienceSucker regestered the 28th of September, but his first post is September 1st! Odd. There is also a poll. A lot of the pages link to out of game pages. Or at least I think they're out of game.

well that's the thing, some of the news on norbac is on legitimate news websites... can't tell if they just looked for news articles that are related to the arg, or if they someone managed to have a news article hosted, and likely not linked from anywhere else so there's no mistaking it for a real article... interesting indeed...

I just noted that there is a barcode on the official Regenesis website. Also, the current investigation page is set to open in mid October. I now think that czechm8 is out of game because he accidentally posted as a guest once and nobody else did that, also, he is way too weird to be ingame. By the way bruce, you might want to put the registration url on the website. ( http://www.regenesistv.com/registration.php )

interesting... combining the two versions of the newsletters, we now get:
Quote:
"Executive Director of NorBAC Caroline Morrison reports that the lab is studying the cause of a highly contagious mystery illness that has killed 10 people in Northern Ontario and put hundreds in quarantine. Medical authorities are classifying the illness as a hemorrhagic fever. Hemorrhagic fevers cause internal bleeding in victims.
Preliminary studies by NorBAC under the suprvision of Chief Scientist Dr. David Sandstrom suggest that the disease could be a never-before-seen chimera of the ------- virus (chimera: a combination of two genetically distinct types of cells). While ------------------------------------- reported ------------------ in the Middle East and Asia. NorBAC's research is focused on how the two viruses could have combined into a single infectious agent and why this new chimera has surfaced in Northern Ontario.
Although the outbreak of this disease appears to be confined to the area immediately surrounding Highway 17 between Marathon and North Bay, Morrison cautions that if the virus reaches Toronto, the resulting epidemic could be more severe than the SARS crisis of 2003.
Ontario citizens are advised to watch for symptoms of the disease, which include:
-Headache
-Fever
-Chills
-Muscle ache
-Blisters
-Bleeding
We are conducting a wide investigation to find people who may have been in contact and are not yet under quarantine. Please review our 'Current Investigations' section for further information and send all information to tiplineSPLAT norbac.ca.

On the Norbac page I notived that David Sandstrom's personal research was of the Spanish flu. After a little research, I discovered that there was an epidemic of Spanish Flu in 1918-1919 and it killed more people in one year than WWI and 4 years of the bubomic pleague. Could this be one of the viruses that helped to form Chimera and is mentioned in the newsletter that was sent out?

just a spec
the chimera will be a combination of Ebola Zaire (fatal to humans but not airborne) and Ebola Reston (fatal to monkeys but not humans but is airborne) /spec

Unless the tv show is based off a real story, I doubt it. Plus the fact that the kickout of the registration page is there.
Edit- Some of the ScienceSucks ingame people have been posting. None of the posts are really important, except this one . That one is really important.

Unfortunately, I have received one of these packages in the mail as well, delivered to my address at work, received just today.
Same contents as the others, but it looks like my envelope has been run over by a truck :/ I'll post pictures tonight.
