INFO: Ong's Hat

According to the Lake of Tears page, Aglaura was formerly known as Ong's Hat. In #unfiction chat, kimer pointed us to this page: http://www.deoxy.org/inc2.htm , which is part of a rather bizarre website (but not in game).

In reading about Ong's Hat, which i expect we are supposed to do with all the references, are we to suspect that the Wish is part of a "benevolent race of humanoids descended from Javanese lemurs on a parallel Earth, capable of dimensional shift without machinery, who have been world tripping for thousands of years"? And connected to the "egg" people?

Is there a problem with you believing that? Rolling Eyes

No, but then we will have to get the mayor to talk as him seems related to the Dobbs twins unless he was evacuated as a child and never travelled over.
I am a bit unclear - I read that they went to uninhabited alter universe but then in another story they talk about the Lemurians coming here. Is this from the same crossing place?

More on the Hat

http://www.incunabula.org/resources.html

Easy to get lost in it, there's so much...

There's quite a (not in game, I'm sure) lot of information about the history of the "oldest urban myth."

Chock full of everything that makes a myth, and even invokes the name of a hero of mine. http://www.leary.com Interestingly, they even reference, at one point, a pivotal book in my college years - where Leary contends that there are 8 levels of evolution and that we are currently in the 4th (larval) stage, and transitioning to the 5th (post larval) stage. It's a fascinating theory of personal/societal devlopment. And probably not realted to the game at all, dammit.

Ong's Hat

For those who haven't read it yet - I found a real book that talks about the history of Ong's Hat. No mention of the cult but still interesting. It's a long address, sorry.

Ong's Hat - enigma connection

Here is an interesting site. It, too, is selling a book. This one entitled "Ong's Hat - The Beginning" by Joseph Matheny and Peter Moon.

About half way down the page, it mentions how a group of scientists would hang out at the Ong's Hat Rod and Gun Club, shooting the breeze and deciphering the enigma machine.

How much of it is actual hooey, I don't know.

Same site in case I messed up the above link
