Has Dana been captured...

Quote:
Lt. Adam deserves equal praise for his work in tracking down the killer.

I searched for this and found nothing - trout me if necessary...

It's on the 404 page....

Lt. Adam revealed that Dana had gone to China and then Japan. I think that, so far, all this has allowed Melissa to do is determine Dana's credit card info and jam the card. If Dana had actually been captured, that news would probably have gone on the Hives page along with the line about capturing the Princess.

But the real test will be to see if Melissa asks for more info on Tuesday.

As far as Dana goes, need I remind anyone playing this ARG that Melissa
is WAY overreacting? It would seem to me that as humans, players, or "loyal
crew" (or whatever we each like to call ourselves) it should be in our
nature to not let an innocent be punished.

No matter what your perceived relationship to Melissa is, our goal should be
to try to protect Dana by atleast helping Mel understand that the damage she
caused was unintentional.

Yes, Melissa is very much broken. She's all MELISSA ANGRY!!! MELISSA SMASH!!! and well, you know, it's time we school her a bit in manners and such. Wink

But yes, it might be worth it to give her some perspective.

[spec]We probably don't know something very, very important about Dana.[/spec]

Yeah, what if Dr. Hasley (?) is her distant descendent? Melissa kills her and
we never get to play Halo 1!!!

I'm not offering the Mysteriousness or Not of Dana as a reason to sacrifice her to the digital queen, not at all!

I'm just sayin', Melissa may have ulterior motives regarding miss thang, even though the evidence thus far doesn't seem to lend to Dana being more than the Story So Far chicky that we've come to know from afar.

One of the most important mysteries about the entire Melissa situation that we've never even come close to solving is "Why ilovebees.com?"

We don't really even know how Melissa got flung back in time when the rest of her crew clearly did not (Greene was hit by a bus and McKaskill's getting off-the-books taxi rides in the post-crash, Durga timeline), but I think we all strongly suspect the artifact that the Apocolypso picked up has some connection to the timetravel.

But why ilovebees.com? It had to be selected for some reason. Could it be, as you suggest, that Melissa had some sort of affinity for Dana (or Margaret) specifically, for an as-of-yet undisclosed reason? Could it have been because of the site's content (i.e. bees and bee-lovin')? Something else entirely?

We've been enticed to solve this mystery before, albeit indirectly. In the August 27th 404 page, The Sleeping Princess says in response to Paul P's letter:

The Sleeping Princess wrote:
So the tools I would look for first is, I would try to figure out how come I got HERE. That's where I would start.

I'm not suggesting that we've been given everything we need, information-wise, to solve this mystery yet, but we should be on the lookout for clues and hints - which is my long-winded way of saying, "yes, we should be suspicious of Dana until we know for sure that the cause of her involvement in this scenario is only her own bad luck."

Please note that "suspcious of" and "actively try to get killed by a delusional AI" are not the same. Smile
