Using these letters

OC*DHAIAMPAEMO

*D=Dromophobia, fear of crossing streets and leaving out MTP from the first popup, and making PHOBIA.COM you are left with DAEM. There is a demon phobia called daemonophobia or demonophobia, but no luck in finding a website.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I believe the list of phobias are as follows:

ommeta/ommato (eyes)
techno (technology)
dromo (crossing street)
heiro (priest)
nyctohylo (dark wooded areas)
iatro (doctors)
bato (tall buildings)
metallo (metals)
pupa (puppets)
anthro/antho (flowers)
emeto (vomiting)
eoso (dawn)
ornitho (birds)

first letters: otdhnibmpaeeo

anagraming gives: dementophobia (fear of insanity) leading to -> http://www.theunraveling.com/dementophobia.html

Nice find. Can anyone figure out what this music is from?

source pic found here: http://www.istockphoto.com/file_closeup.php?id=222674

Notice that additional notes were added to the original pic (above the letter o and p). In chat, we're spec'ing that it's a clue to focus on chords and maybe chord = letters... Confused

Still waiting for somebody to transcribe melody.mp3. In one of Ed's email, he also asked whether anyone has transcribed it...

I'm wondering if the P in dementoPhobia below the notes has any special significance. Or the 3 notes above it (a,c, & e). This part might be special since its the only capital leter.

My wife said that 12.jpg looks like an aquarium plant. So, even though it still looks like fireworks to me, it does appear to be a plant/flower like object.

Notice from the stock photo, The music is made up by the way (not a real piece).

Could that apply to any music on the site?

Rather odd that a popup from amazinggrace.html leads to dementophobia.html, which links back to amazinggrace.html.

I don't think we've got anyone transcribing the music at the moment.

For those of you who haven't been following the Amazing Grace music puzzle thread, the text is formatted to match the layout of a piano keyboard. Most likely the notes in the Melody correspond to specific lines of the poem, by treating each line as a key on the keyboard.

More and more I think that the Fears puzzle was a hint to solving Amazing Grace.

Looking at the notes in "staff" (the name of the jpg as it was posted) and how it was altered from the istock photo - the notes are either 1, 2 or 3.

Reading Ed's 10/4/04 update on UM, he hints to the 1 or 3 notes at a time.

Varin has attempted a transcription into 1 or 3 (the notes or chords) and in chat last night grumpyboy also noticed the pattern of 8 that suggested binary.

So I think we can label Fears [SOLVED] and focus ourselves back to Amazing Grace.

/me imagines the PM pulling hairs at getting us moving along The Unraveling.

Just as a footnote....the dots above the 'o' and 'P" are Braille for 'o' and 'R'. It turns out the music was a braille puzzle. It spelled out a message which lead gb to mankind.html. Maybe someday we'll get a transcrption of the music so this can be illustrated. I keep trying to find software that will do it because I am hopeless at music puzzles.
