So, what exactly is the puzzle?

I believe that the subject lines and the numbers following will translate into a phrase, a quote, or a URL or something immediately useful in some way, shape, or form.
It may also have something to do with the body of the messages, but since mello's was ... original, it's not like we can play the game of What Has Been Changed? with that particular missive.

I'm trying to figure out what's going on.
The characters that existed in MU are now sending mails to their creators?

It looks that way, Addle.
And I gotta admit when the other PMs told me they got these strange mails, I thought "wouldn't it be cool if *I* had one too?" so off I went...and there it was. And yeah, I was a bit creeped out by it at first.
Now I'm waiting to find a big package on my doorstep with a dolphin in it

I have impure thoughts about Brendan Fraser upon occasion, but boy, he sure can't sing, can't he?
OK, so ... now ... where were we ...
Oh yeah. Hm.

I worked a bit last nite on the equation angle.....didn't get far but maybe it'll spark someone else.
7a 2B 2b 2B 1c 2D 4d 3D 31 31 32 35
7a + 2b + 1c - 4d = 1125
There are 4 distinct emails and 4 lowercase letters (abcd)
Maybe each lowercase letter refers to which of the four email, and the number immediately in front of the letter indicates the letter, or first letter of the word in the numerical position.
(i.e.) Assuming Space is "a" - 7a would be either the 7th letter, or first letter of 7th word of:
I quickly drive the crimson stars
But the beasts love through the bright sheep.
Why does the day slide so secretly and brightly?
Why is a salesman?
A door rises quickly above the aging flowers.
The ships rise
Borsch-poo or nothingness...
If the email are assigned correctly (abcd) then maybe the "check" will be inserting a value of the letter found into the equation and having it be true.
(i.e.)Assuming Space is "a" and we're looking for first letter of the seventh word:
7a + 2b + 1c - 4d = 1125
7(B)............................
7(42)..........................
I know it's all pretty convoluted, but thought I'd post anyway.

A few observations that are probably obvious to everyone, but I'm gonna make anyway
Code:
(random): 7a 2B 2b 2B 1c 2D 4d 3D 31 31 32 35
(texel): 2a 2D 5b 2B 8c 2B 4d 3D 32 32 31 31
(caesar): 4a 2B 8b 2D 6c 2B 3d 3D 31 32 34 38
(mello): 6a 2D 5b 2D 2c 2B 1d 3D 35 34 37
every line follows the same pattern
#a 2x #b 2x #c 2x #d 3D ## ## ## ## (well, aside from mello's which only has the 3 pairs at the end).
That has to be significant. For a while I was stuck on the 3D before the three or four pairs. It stands out to me because it's the only one of the 'static' letters that's capitalized. That made me think the 3D was a . (dot) and the pairs would lead to various extensions, but the patterns of numbers didn't lead to any extensions that I know of. Thanks go out to Ikkarus for getting me unstuck from that (though I'm still not convinced it's wrong ) and stuck on the pattern instead. I haven't gotten anywhere with it yet, but perhaps one of you all can.

Hee, I'm loving the voicings. So awesome. I feel some reminiscing is in order.
Also, you guys can get Brendan Frasier to sing the theme song for the sequel, right? It needs to consist entirely of "eeee eee eeeee eee," preferably in morse code.

Hmmm, in my excitement, I initially failed to notice that this Leak email came from an email address at the domain "metacortechs.com", whereas all others to date appear to have come from various addys at "version.net".
Hmm. Spoofed addy, or ghost in the machine??

ok, so, the abcd numbers make a sort of magic square thing.
Code:
7 . 2 . 1 . 4= 14
2 . 5 . 8 . 4= 19
4 . 8 . 6 . 3= 21
6 . 5 . 2 . 1= 14
19 +20 +17 +12= 68
gah! you guys I have homework and I don't solve puzzles! Someone solve this for me already

I see where you got your numbers, but what do we do then with the upper-case ones?
Gah!!!
Also, now we're in sixes? Hex? Ahhhhh!!
(I feel incredibly stupy-headed)
