I keep fiddling with the letters, I did notice that the first three letters of the first three words spell "THE".....and depending on how you split them up and regroup them into words.....
THEGLANSLEOO
THEGLANSLOE
THEGLAOSSLON
So is there something that could have to do with "The Glass ????"
I know this is a stretch.

THENHEEGOG
ONELASTA
CTOSP
NISSOONLO
OSEOF?NEEND
You can almost arrange them in an hourglass pattern...

Well, I've discovered that you can totally make an entire soap opera plot out of the anagrams (of THEGLANSLOES) that contain the word "legal." And "agent."
...So, no, no progress.

Can anyone tell me how you got the letters everyone is working with? I feel kinda lost because the letters I posted are completely different from the ones MrBeefy posted

From this post:

Ok, I'm posting as I'm working on this, and I think there is some corruption in the WAV > MIDI program... I'm going to go look into cleaning that up right now, but in the meantime, I've found this:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
THEN HE EGO GONE LAST ACT OSPNIS SOON LOOSE OF ? NEEND
I was working with them and I noticed that the first 3 letters of the first 3 words spell THE.....what does it mean....absolutely nuttin....lol.
I reread your posts Ehsan, and I see you've got some letters - but my brain isn't wrapping around your method of finding them....

I got them by numbering the sequence of notes at the end (from 1 to 26) and then matching the numbers to the code being played throughout the file.. then the numbers can mean anything you want.. my worksheet is attached if you want to change the letters..
I still don't get where MrBeefy got the letters though...

Neither do I, but since I have a tin ear, I'm working with anything posted here to see if we can move on from this infernal dolphin.

OK, I'm totally lost. I don't have a tin ear, and already posted the note names (which are probably irrelevant since they're just random white keys on a keyboard). What do you need, how can I help, and where the hell are these letters coming from again?

Ok let's start over just to get everyone on the same track..
There is an MP3 file here http://www.lessonstolearn.net/thedolphin/demo_track.mp3
If you open the file in a sound editor you can see that there are different sounds on the left and right channel. If you eliminate the music on each channel you are left with some musical notes on the other channel. (Circled in Yellow in diagram 1)
At the end of the sound file there is a series of notes, not random but in ascending order. (Highlighted in Red in diagram 1)
What I did was delete all the music and only keep the notes. There are five groups of random notes followed by one group of 26 ordered notes at the end. (Diagram 2)
I speculated that these 26 notes are the 26 letters of the alphabet. You can see the letters in the diagram. I then went back to the first 5 groups which consists of similar notes, and mapped each note to the letter it denotes. (Diagram 3) You can't compare the notes by looking at them. But if you hear them you'll see that they are the same notes.
At least that's what I did and I posted my results.. MrBeefy posted completly different results then what I got so I'm just waiting for him to show up and explain things

Thank you for that explanation Ehsan, makes it much clearer to me how you arrived where you did.

I tried the possibility that the alphabet was originally reverse mapped.
I just took what you had:
gsxmsvvtlt
lmvozlgz
xghlhkf
mrhhllmol
lhvguezmvvmw
And reversed the alphabet and got:
THCNHEEGOG
ONELAOTA
CTSOSPU
NISSOONLO
OSETFANEEND
Which is weirdly close to Mr. Beefy's:
THENHEEGOG
ONELASTA
CTOSP
NISSOONLO
OSEOF?NEEND
Maybe by comparing the two.....you can check to see if there are any notes that are "iffy" and we can get something out of that?
(.i.e) the SPU from the end of the middle line, now works with the N from the start of the 4th line to form "SPUN".
No idea if this is what we are supposed to do, but Mr. Beefy did mention this in his post:
The (?) character is created when shifting the scale to make words come out. One note is below the scale.
Which makes me think he didn't do this by "hand" so to speak....so he must have used something to extract the letters he did in order for them to be so similar to the reverse mapping no?

Ok, combining to form words:
THEN HE EGO GONE LAST ACT SO SPUN IS SOON LOOSE OF ?NE END.
?NE is perhaps one? Can an "O" be there?
I'm pretty sure those can be arranged into a logical sentence of some sort. Perhaps it's a quote from something?
Attempt = "Then he spun loose, ego gone, one last act of..." Dunno, but seems possible.
Also, first letters form "the glass is looe." Which either means nothing or indicates that "one" isn't quite right. Or, uh, something else.
[edit] I think maybe now we should try to confirm whether those letters are all right. I have a lot of trouble doing that, lots of guesswork and trying to use inaccurate software to get the pitch (and I'm clearly not the only one, hee)...can our resident musician (or other people with well-functioning ears) maybe confirm the identify of the notes in those "random" (non-descending) sections? If we all agree on what the letters should be, then trying to analyze them will probably be more fruitful and stuff.
Also, poor Marcus hasn't gotten an e-mail in a whole week! He's so unloved. Although I suppose that's what happens when you're the kind of person who sets your whole profile to reflect your password. I mean, seriously, that's just weird.

I love teamwork! No, seriously, I love teamwork!!!
I had a couple of wrong notes, and combined what I had with what all you guys were doing..
then he ego gone last act so spun is soon loose of vane end
first letters form: The glass is love
(from the glass is half empty, some say. Others say the glass is half full. I say the glass is Love. -Wongmo)
So we go to:

Edit: Sorry for not using spoilers.. but I guess we're past them by now
