[SPEC] One Thing Bugs Me About Kemal Being Offline

possible, but I have not seen enough to necessarily make me think that this is the case yet. He was in a public place (cafeteria) when she jumped chatter to chatter following him... but at home where there are not other means of following through other chatters (except maybe Hiro's for which he got from Kamal)

I had a little issue with ordering the audio clips as well, due to this and other issues.

I think I solved it by splitting the Jersey Clips in two to make things fit chronologically.

Check out the order of the assembled clips here. I basically had to bookend everything with a split up Jersey clip, as he also talks to Jan in there somewhere. I think it works out well.

I think Kamal might have to be online when trying to trace who's been ghosting him. He was typing at the beginning of just_wondering, he probably figured going online was safe since he was by himself and all they would hear was his ranting about the Navy not saving Coral.

I think that Durga was able to compensate that time when Kamal went offline because there were so many other chatters. Though Sophie and Kamal boht sounds faint and distorted, the various people they talk to are clear as day.

If Durga's ready for it, she may be able to follow him from chatter to chatter.

But suppose that he goes into a forest. Sure, Durga can track him to that point. But once he's offline, Durga should have no idea where she is.

It's like stepping into a river to lose trackers. They can follow your footprints to the rivers edge, but they can't go any farther.

But, I think Durga would listening pretty heavily to Hiro's and Sophie's chatters to find where Kamal is.

I don't think Kamal is anywhere near his apartment. Could it be that he combined his attempt to escape Durga with an attempt to keep Sophia on "safe" Earth rather than having her be deported.

...well, where are they going to deport Sophie to anyways? The place she came from got glassed, what are they gonna do, jettison her into space?

Good point, but there are still human colonies.

If Earth Immigration got it into their heads to send Sophie away, there are places.

Further, even if they don't deport her, she's still a criminal. She taking advantage of an illegal visa, and that has to be pretty illegal considering the amount of refugees and immigrants.

Obviously they don't think much of the fact that she associated with Aiden, otherwise she couldn't walk around and tell Kamal about it.

Still, I think you're right that Sophia is essentially clear to stay on Earth.

We'll find out more next week.

So, do you think Kamal is alone, wherever, or did Sophia join him?
