My email to Wes:

Wes,

I noticed the graffiti on the Library wall. I was able to find a symbol that I believe might match it. Unfortunately, I have no idea what this strange thing represents. I thought since you specialize in the strange and curious you might be able to help me figure it out.

Here is a graphic of what I found:

Any ideas?
PS: I am excited to see what you found on the hunt the other day.

His response:

Yeah, that weird graffiti seems to be popping up everywhere. I'm not sure of all the places they've found them, but I know there's definitely more than the ones you mentioned. I think people personally have told me of about a dozen of them. You know, it wouldn't be a bad idea to maybe map them out. Most people still think it's kids or some local prankster yet (yes, some of them have pointed fingers my way but I swear I have nothing to do with it) but I'm not so sure. I'll see what I can find out and try to put it on a map for you or something. Actually, on second thought, maybe could sell the damn things. Yeah, that's the ticket. "See all the local weird spots! Graffiti Guide Maps! Get yours today!" So tell me, what would you be willing to pay? OK, I was just yanking your chain a little. I'll see what I can do.

Wes

I love this guy's sense of humor.... would be great to get the map... I'll plan on responding to him later today.... feel free to give input Wink

Maybe you can try to prod him into seeing if he can identify any connection with where the graffiti is showing up. For example, maybe they are associated with places that have something to do with the Spragues, or anything else.

I got that info too. Wes also told me:

Almost forgot - the strange objects you mention are just little things
really
(unless you count the disc I found in the Barrens). For example I heard
a story
of someone finding some kind of clay amulet or necklace hanging from
their rear
view mirror, inside their locked car. Other people have found packs of
flower
seeds in their mailboxes that they've never ordered and that the local
mailman
swears he didn't deliver. And no one else was seen putting them there
either.
Just weird things like that. Like I said, most people just think it's
the same
pranksters as the graffiti doing it. who knows?

It seems interesting that Wes offered to map the locations of the grafitti without solicitation (at least as far as we know). It might mean that the PM's were waiting for someone to suggest this, but no one stepped forward. It will be interesting to see what patterns emerge from such a map.

I didn't ask for a map, but I mentioned those that I knew of and asked for the locations of others. When I wrote back I aslo asked for more detail on the other things found including what culture he felt the amulet came from.

Looks like we're going to get a map of all the graffitti locations by the end of the week. Now the Mayor has mentioned providing a map, see http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=5493#5493

Whose version will we get first? The Mayors (would show up on the Aglaura site, right?) or Wes' (posted on EOTW).

Graffiti connected to "Dead Eyes"

Just got this. Does it mean they are done? Did they go back to the Library and get something?

Barbara:
You know both Sam and I have been going crazy with worry since the fire
at
Dale's house. And even though the town's bureaucracy has clammed up
tight since
Thursday night, Sam did manage to find out that they haven't found any
bodies
in Dale's house, or what's left of it. So that much at least is good
news.

First, in answer to your questions:
1) I asked Sam about "Aeris". It seems that it was a chatbot used by
Aglaura
to "record" the entire Press Conference. He says this is commonly done
in this
type of chat environemnt, nothing mysterious or unusual there.
2) Aglaura is a strange mixture of old and new, with perhaps an equal
number of
newer and older buildings. Not that there have been that many new
buildings
since we changed the name to Aglaura, I'm talking about buildings
constructed
over the last ten years or so. Your theory about the graffiti sites
possibly
being on sites where buildings have been "built over" is interesting
but I'm
not sure if it holds up. One of the graffiti marks was on Dale's house,
and I'm
fairly sure there was never another building of any type there before
those
homes were built. At least far as long as I can remember.
3) Listen about the "Dobbs": I can tell you've been doing some reading
of our
local legends, stories etc. I'll just say this to you. As in many
things, the
truth that's there isn't necessarily in the details. If you've ever met
our
Mayor Dobbs, you'd never ask a question if any of his relatives ever
went to
Princeton! Dobbs is a very common name around here though.

I'm honestly not sure what the symbol represents although I have a few
guesses
that I'm not quite ready to share yet. I should probably fill you in on
at
least one thing I know about the graffiti, something I shared with Dale
last
week, a few days before all this happened. Those men with the strange
eyes, the
ones I have called "dead eyes", the last time I saw them, when they
were in my
shop that day, one of them reached for one of the items in my store,
and I saw
a marking, a tattoo probably, on his wrist. I only got a glance at it,
but it
appeared to be the same symbol as the graffiti.

Another strange thing that I don't think they announced to anyone yet
too - the
first symbol they found, the one on the new library building that was
incomplete. Notice I said was. On Friday morning they discovered that
it had
been completed.

If you or any of Dale's other new "friends" out there hear from him,
please let
either Sam or I know right away. I promise to do the same.

Here My reply from Wes. I'll highlight what was not in the letter above.

I guess it's time I filled you in on a few more things I know about
the
graffiti and that I shared with Dale last week, a few days before all
this

removing the
graffiti, or I should say, they tried to start removing it. Seems
they're
having a tough time getting it off most of the surfaces they found it
on.
