EMAIL MAYOR: greatwater general & dale's location

Perhaps we need to put all the Mayor contacts in one central location, an archive perhaps?

From the Mayor to ElderofZion (from CD)

From: elderofzion
Date: Monday, March 03, 2003 09:38pm PST (-0800GMT)
Topic: Contact.
Subject: Mail from the Mayor
I received this late this afternoon:

Dear Mr. Darzion:

Well, this has certainly been a Hell of a day. I can't tell you how many e-
mails I've had to answer or have my assistant answer for me in the last few days.

Quite a few people seem to be exxagerating the extent of Dale Sprague's problem, I think. Although I haven't spoken to him directly in a few days, I believe his current situation may be categorized more as "seeking help", rather than "institutionalized".

I'm certain you can understand the necessity of this since you seem familiar with what Dale has gone through lately.

I'm also very concerned about your comments about a group of "armchair" investigators looking into this. I'm certain you understand how unfortunate this is for all of Aglaura. We've been trying very hard to develop a new image for our beautiful but sometimes misunderstood town and the last thing we need is for strange and exxagerated stories about one of our citizens (let alone a Councilman!) to hit the regional and local media. And of course, this wouldn't be good for Dale or his career either.
You claim to be concerned about him, but have you considered that at all?

I honestly don't have details of the accident to give you and don't really
think that's my place anyway, as the accident did not occur in Aglaura but a few miles outside. I do believe Dale was taken to our local medical facility, however, so maybe the folks at Greatwater can give you more information.

I tell you what, if you promise to forego further efforts to contact Aglaura people about this, I'll see if I can find out where Dale is staying. I'm sure he wouldn't mind contact from someone he's known for a long time. Is there a phone number that I might call you at to provide you this information? Please let me know.

Thanks,
Pat Dobbs
Mayor of Aglaura NJ

Hello Michelle:
You must be new at Channel 8; I don't think Tracie or anyone else there
has mentioned you to me. I was quite frankly wondering when you people
would start bugging me for an "official" statement about this whole mess. By the
way, that wasn't one. An official statement. Calling it a "mess" I mean.
First of all, my comments about Diana Sprague and the little girl are
posted on the town's website. Feel free to use whatever you want off of there.
As far as Dale Sprague, you've already begun to twist this story I see
by using terms like "mental institution" and "commitment". Where did you get
that stuff from? The man has just gone through Hell losing his famiy and you
people are going to start throwing things like that out there about him?

Listen, I've got no official statement for you about Dale and his
condition. I'm not a doctor. I know that the folks at our local medical facility,
Greatwater released him after the accident after evaluating him for
several days right after the accident. Maybe they can shed some more light on
any medical facts before Channel 8 says something they might surely regret.

Next time, have Tracie call me. I'm not used to dealing with assistants.

Mayor Dobbs

In response to:

Good Evening Mayor Dobbs,

My name is Michelle Baxter and I'm Tracie Schmidt's assistant here at Channel
8 News.

I was wondering if you had any comment over the events of the past
few weeks.

First the death of Diana Sprague and revered member of the Aglaura
community along with her daughter Meaghan.

And the latest chapter in the story with the Aglaura Borough Council
member Dale Sprague and his recent commitment to a mental institution?

We here at Channel 8 will do this story with all the respect that
this family deserves, but also this is a story that must be told.

Michelle Baxter
Assistant to T. Schmidt

So he was originally at Greatwater. And now at the Klepsydra Headquarters in Princeton according to the Mayor.
