I, too, would be part of the HALO -> ILB crew. I have used xbconnect many times, but not recently. I am definitely interested in getting on there with you guys/girls.

I too was drawn into the game by the halo 2 trailer. I also love RPG's and this seems like a lovely amalgam of the two. It has taken so much of my free time I have spent much time away from playing halo on the pc and it has even become a bigger priority than checking bungie or Halo.bungie.org. definatly a better way to wait for HALO 2 to come out. I just wish my friends would be a little more interesting in the ARG. when I explained it to one of them he just said " keep me informed". I have been too busy to update them and they can care less. there loss. Hopefully there will be some references in HALO 2 about us just so I can say hey look what you missed out on. but probably the refernce would only make sense to us beekeepers.

sorry daboking, when i said router i was thinkin of a hub.... you only need a hub and 2 system link chords..

high speed goes into the hub, modem is connected to hub via system link chord, and xbox is connected to hub via system link chord. then just go to system link game in halo, and click on tools- find my xbox on the xbconnect menu.....

I found out about ILB through Halo2. I was looking around HBO and came across a fan comic that made a joke about I Love Bees. I did a search and found tons to read in the forum there. I read that for awhile, then I noticed the link to the article for "Halo Fans". I followed the link here and have been hooked ever since. I took a very roundabout way to get here, but I eventually got here. Very Happy

No Halo, No XBox

I don't have an xbox, and I have never played halo.

I am a technophile and addicted to slashdot. From there, I learned about the Evan Chan ARG after AI was out in theaters. It seemed far too complicated, and with few puzzles that seemed even remotely solvable for me.

From slashdot, I also heard the first rumblings about ilovebees. I looked around, thought it was interesting, but since I didn't feel that I had much to contribute, I just checked back in when I remembered to. The coordinates were what got me involved finally. I just got a GPS unit for my PPC, so I was all over that...

I don't intend to get an xbox because of this, or Halo2 until it shows up on PCs. It would be NICE if MS/bungie could find a way to make the xbox version and the PC version compatible online.

well I'll enlist myself in the Halo -> ILB crew... I've already spewed my life's story about my xbox-ism, so I won't bother again... but there were two things that drew me in - I don't even remember the first one, but it had to do with the rabbithole, and someone reporting it somewhere I think, but there was no Halo link at that point... it was the wait for the Halo 2 trailer, then watching it the day it was released then reading about the url flash at the end that made 4=2+2 for me. Then I was hookied Smile

Ooooof... *Intakes breath as if watching someone else get kicked in the nuts*

Dude, I hate to break it to you, but Halo 2 will not be coming out for PC. The demand (which you illustrate perfectly) for a PC version that works with Xbox versions over Live is impossible, so they're not going to bother. If you didn't know, the PC version of Halo 1 wasn't made by Bungie. A group picked it up with permissions to re-create it on PC, which they did to minimal success.

Having played both versions, and despite the improved multiplayer aspect of the PC version, I'm going to claim that the Xbox version is still tons better, if only because not everyone can run the same game on every PC. Mine, for example, is 4 years old and would crumple under the pressure of Halo 1, much less a port of Halo 2.

Sorry if it breaks your heart, but your attitude seems to emulate that it won't be a big concern to you.

I too am in the Halo --> ilb population, though my Halo exploits have been strictly offline up to this point. Though I'll definitely be on Live after Halo 2 comes out (and there I will get my ass handed to me on a regular basis).

My husband and I have played through Halo twice together (co-op), but I really wasn't into Halo like I am now before this ARG started. I heard about ilovebees through a Xbox forum I frequent. That brought me here, which got me to buy the books to get some background, which got me more into the ARG, which got me completely obsessed with the Haloverse. I'm really hoping Jan et al will be in Halo 2. I don't want to lose these characters. Smile

I've been following this since HBO first posted about it way back when, as soon as Microsoft released the trailers on the web. Heh that kind of tickled me too, it had been in theaters for quite a while, but they had to put it on the web to get anyone to notice the IBL link at the end.

It's great to see so many fellow Halo players (and potential converts), I'd love to have Live and join you all. I play Legendary by myself all the time, but I'll admit I have a bit of trouble dealing with living opponents. Not a ton, but evenly dealt. It would be a learning experience, if I had broadband, to play on Live. Sigh. Living in the country. All that bloody clean air, no light pollution, beautiful wilderness, and no bloody cable line to be seen.

This game has been great fun, like reading the books but seeing things from a very different angle. I believe that was the intention...if so, well achieved. Hope to see you all on Live someday! Farewell.
